Red flag warning in effect from noon today to 10 PM MDT Sunday for wind and low relative humidity for fire weather zones 495 and 497... The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a red flag warning for wind and low relative humidity... which is in effect from noon today to 10 PM MDT Sunday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * Affected area... fire weather zone 495 color Country West desert and fire weather zone 497 Mojave Desert. * Winds... southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts over 35 mph. * Relative humidity... minimum rh values will be near or below 10 percent. * Impacts... the combination of low relative humidity and gusty winds will create hazardous fire weather conditions each afternoon and evening. Rh values will climb to 25-35 percent at night and winds will relax under 15 mph. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
