#FireTheFools Day: Action St. George hosts march and rally for social and environmental justiceBy Dr. Kathryn Syssoyeva

Action St. George is hosting a march and rally April 1 at the Town Square Gazebo located at Tabernacle Street and S 100 W to voice our concern and our outrage about the growing assault on environmental protections, human rights, economic justice, and democratic institutions by the current administration and Congress. We have called this march to advocate for a politics of compassion, and to nurture a space where concerned and affected citizens can meet, be heard, and create new coalitions of positive change.

We will gather at 2 p.m. for the march and return to Town Square to rally at 3 p.m.

There will be performances by slam poets and musicians and talks by speakers on the following topics:

—Health care.

—LGBTQIA+ rights.

—Native American rights.

—Immigrant rights.

—Women’s rights.

—Environmental protections.

—The rights of people of color.

—The rights of religious minorities.

—The growing trend toward a new eugenics.

—The politics of compassion and next steps for positive local action.

We invite all concerned citizens of Washington County to join with us!
