Pikesouthern utah adoptable pets Pike

Pike may be shy and fearful with people, but once she gets comfortable with you, she is very sweet. She’ll even seek attention and get a little goofy. Born in 2015, Pike came to the Sanctuary from a Best Friends Network Partner shelter. At Dogtown, she is working on building her confidence and social skills. She is nervous about car rides and currently needs to be picked up to get inside a vehicle. She has been nervous indoors, too, so she stays outside a lot. Although she’s a picky eater, she will guard her food as well as her toys. Pike has done well with all dogs she’s met at the Sanctuary and is playful with her doggie friends. She walks wonderfully on a leash and enjoys her walks. Pike is looking for an understanding person or family who can continue helping her build confidence and learn about the world.

Dantesouthern utah adoptable pets Dante

Looking for a handsome senior boy? Dante was born in 2004 and had a rough beginning in life. But he still trusts people and enjoys their company. He is on medication for chronic ear issues. Dante would love to find a calm, quiet home where he can go for short walks and take naps in the sun. If you’ve got a spot on your couch (or a comfy dog bed) for Dante to curl up on, he’d love to meet you.

Dandysouthern utah adoptable pets Dandy

There’s a reason she’s called ‘Dandy.’ Her good looks are complemented by a sweet personality. She’s energetic and sometimes likes to pretend she’s a mountain goat by climbing up on things like her crate. She loves running around off leash at the Sanctuary dog park, and she is learning nose work, which is a fun search and scenting sport for dogs. Dandy was born in 2016 and came to Best Friends from a shelter in Texas. She is very vocal and rough and tumble with other dogs, but as long as they can handle her play style, she is fine with them. Dandy has shown aggression toward cats in the past, so she cannot live with them. She has a high prey drive and gets very vocal when she sees other animals, but she is working on this at Dogtown. She is doing specific training to reduce her reactivity on a leash and to learn how to walk nicely. Dandy knows some basic training cues and is crate trained. She would be the perfect girl for an active home and a person or family who will continue working on her training.

Sandysouthern utah adoptable pets Sandy

Sandy is initially shy, but she’s friendly once she gets to know you. Although she peacefully coexists with other cats, she keeps to herself. Born in 2011, she was abandoned. Sandy is a beautiful girl with big, bright, curious eyes and a soft, long coat. She needs someone who has patience and will teach her that people can be trusted.

Konosouthern utah adoptable pets Kono

Kono is friendly once you overcome his initial shyness. He’s also shy with other cats. Born in 2011, Kono was found on a Hawaiian golf course, rescued and flown by private plane here to the Sanctuary. He has FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus), so will need to live with other FeLV+ cats, or be an only kitty. This handsome island boy loves to sit in laps and be petted under his chin. He’s traveled far to find a new home on the mainland.

Daltonsouthern utah adoptable pets Dalton

Dalton may be a little reserved at first, but once he gets to know you he’ll come to sit on your lap, especially if he knows you have treats for him. He loves other cats and enjoys playing and cuddling with them. Born in approximately 2014, he was abandoned. He’s in good health and is a very sweet kitty, given the time to adjust.

Eddie is truly a lovely dog and good with other dogs his size as well as respectful children. Eddie’s adoption fee is $125.

Popeyesouthern utah adoptable pets POPEYE

Popeye is a silly little boy. He lost his eye due to lack of proper vet care by his previous owner but it doesn’t slow him down. He loves either snoozing on the sofa or wildly running around teasing all the other dogs. He doesn’t particularly want to go outside but if you put him outside and get out of his sight, he’ll do his business. He does use the doggie door with encouragement. Popeye’s adoption fee is $125.

Lucky and Charmsouthern utah adoptable pets LUCKY+CHARM

Lucky and Charm are a bonded pair who will only be placed together. Charm has the most adorable face and one of our volunteers says she looks like a muppet with her blue eyes and square jaw. Lucky is about 5 years old and Charm is thought to be about 3 years old. Charm is the more outgoing of the two but Lucky also enjoys attention and being loved. They are very sweet, quiet little dogs who would enjoy being part of a family. They would be good with older, respectful children but toddlers may be too much for them. They are great with the other dogs at That BAM Place and Charm enjoys playing with the other little ones from time to time. The adoption fee for Lucky & Charm is $250. To meet them call (435) 773-5209.

Sabrinasouthern utah adoptable pets Sabrina

After being hit by a car, little Sabrina spent 8 weeks in a cast while her bones healed. She’s 10 years old but loves to adventure by car, trail, or river. Snuggles are her favorite, but she’s not a couch potato. Sabrina lives with several big dogs and enjoys their company. Never once have they heard her bark. Sabrina would be great in any home but, even with her cast off, she will still need tender care until her bones are strong. Sabrina does require daily medication for an enlarged heart but nothing stops this little dog from living life to its fullest. They are still working on house training, but the process is slow due to her broken bones. Sabrina sleeps through the night without urinating and does not urinate on the carpet but will on tile. Her cast may be at fault, and now with it removed, she’ll be more agile and move more easily. To meet Sabrina or find out more about her, contact Andrea or A.J. at (612) 756-2374. Sabrina’s adoption fee is $100 and she is also eligible for their Seniors Helping Seniors Program.

Triosouthern utah adoptable pets TRIO

Trio is approximately 5 years old. She is a sweet German Shepherd blend who is really a relaxed, happy dog. She likes walks, car rides, stuffed toys, bones, and people. She’s a typical GSD and can be aloof until she gets to know you. She was seen being put out of a car in California and tied to a pipe. The car drove away and did not return even though folks waited for hours for them. Trio was taken to a shelter where, because of her crippled leg and because the shelter staff said she was a senior, she was facing death. BAM pulled her and they got her to a vet. X-rays revealed no break in her leg but an old injury that caused nerve damage and now she is unable to use her left leg much and is unable to straighten it out. The vet determined amputation would not be necessary. Trio is a gorgeous, well-behaved (except for pulling a bit on the leash which can be easily corrected with training) dog. They have not seen her with children but she has not demonstrated any behavior that would cause them concern around respectful children. To meet her call J at (435) 773-5209. Her adoption fee is $125.
