Yo Yosouthern utah adoptable pets Yo Yo

This people-oriented dog adores affection and will quickly become your devoted best friend. When she’s not busy soaking up love, Yo Yo enjoys playing with stuffed toys and balls. She is very intelligent and enjoys learning new tricks. Born in 2008, Yo Yo also appreciates her cozy bed and fleece blanket. She came to the sanctuary from a Salt Lake City shelter. Although wonderful with people, Yo Yo isn’t great with other animals, and needs a home where she can be the only pampered princess. She has neck pain, so she needs to wear a harness on walks and take medication. We do daily neck stretches with her that are very simple. Yo Yo would be so grateful for a person of her very own to love. Could you be the one this brown-eyed girl has been waiting to meet? Yo Yo has a generous sponsor who will cover her adoption fee. She is part of our Single Pets program! That means that she is eligible for a free flight home! Single pets do best as the only dog or cat in the home.

Zemosouthern utah adoptable pets Zemo

Shy Zemo has had to work hard to overcome his tendency to run and hide from people. Born in 2008, he came to Best Friends from a rescue group that closed its doors, and it’s likely he hadn’t had much human contact before. He is still learning that people are okay and that trust is possible. He’s trying his best to get comfortable with humans and will accept pets. Being around other dogs really helps with his confidence, so he’d do best in a home with a doggie pal or two. But what he really needs is someone who is willing to be very patient with him and help him be the best and the bravest dog he can possibly be.

Azaleasouthern utah adoptable pets Azalea

Azalea has a striking appearance that she seems to take pride in. Though she’s had knee surgery, she’s the kind of dog who needs to run and exercise. She also would appreciate having a job to do before enjoying some relaxation. Azalea has shown some guarding behaviors in Dogtown. She is currently working on building trust with her caregivers and on being comfortable with new surroundings and people. She is making great progress but will continue to need consistent, relationship-based training. Born in 2013, Azalea came to the sanctuary from a Best Friends Network Partner shelter in Utah. If she goes home with a person or a family willing to work with her and to give her a job to do, she will surely blossom into the dog that she is meant to be.

Yobysouthern utah adoptable pets Yoby

If you can’t find Yoby, he’s probably eating! He wants to know everybody (human, that is) and will entertain you with his wand-toy-inspired moves. This sweet, active boy born in 2012 arrived at Best Friends from Los Angeles. You can talk to him about anything or engage him in some petting time and he’ll accept with enthusiasm. He is playful, sweet, and a bit goofy. He enjoys going on sleepovers and taking rides in a stroller. When it comes to other cats, he can crash a crowd like a herd of buffalo. He has no qualms about pushing himself center stage. Yoby has feline leukemia (FeLV), so he’ll need to be an only cat or live with other FeLV cats. He is a delightful cat who’d love for you to take him home.

Zeldasouthern utah adoptable pets Zelda

Zelda is friendly and enjoys being petted. She’ll sometimes come running when you call her name. Born in 2014, she’s a young, curious, and playful girl. She loves to play with toys. She gets along with other cats most of the time. Zelda came to Best Friends from a Texas cruelty case. Her mistreatment resulted in her becoming incontinent, and she needs to have her bladder expressed twice a day. But this sweet girl is otherwise healthy and she deserves to have a home where she can get lots of attention.

Aaronsouthern utah adoptable pets Aaron

“Let me hug you!” The most endearing thing about Aaron is that he likes to hug you around your neck. He’s just a sweet, affectionate love bug. He is clicker-trained to shake hands, and he likes to dance! Born in 2012, Aaron came from a shelter in Washington State due to his special needs. He suffers from incontinence, so he needs to eat a high-fiber diet and to have his bladder expressed daily. In spite of it all, Aaron is a happy guy who craves love.

Mollysouthern utah adoptable pets Molly

Beautiful Molly came to the shelter as a stray, so this lovely hound’s history is a mystery. Molly is approximately one year old and is so very sweet. She seems to love everyone she meets and is especially happy to stay next to her people. This girl was adopted but came back to the shelter because she continues to escape from her kennel. They are told that Molly is sweet and very loving. She does have a little bit of separation anxiety. She comes when she is called and stays close when out horseback riding. She would be a great companion dog for anyone who loves and appreciates the hound breeds. This slender canine still needs to put on a little weight yet. In addition, Molly needs to be spayed. She is great with kids and other dogs. They aren’t sure how she is with cats. No doubt Molly would love to join you on your next camping, hiking, or horseback riding excursion. She is looking for someone who will love and care for her always. By the way, Molly considers herself a lap dog! If you think you and Molly might be a good fit for each other, get in soon to meet her!

Banditsouthern utah adoptable pets bandit love

Freckle-faced Bandit is sure to steal your heart away! This beautiful boy came to the shelter because his owners were moving and could not take him with them. Bandit was very frightened when he first came here, but with a bit of time and patience and a lot of love, he is doing great now. They were told he is a blend of Australian shepherd, border collie, heeler, and probably a few other things mixed in for good measure. Medium-sized Bandit is about 4 years old. He is house trained, absolutely loves camping, and especially adores being petted. Bandit just wants to be right next to you and will happily roll over for belly rubs. Bandit is super sweet and extra cuddly. However, they were told that he does not do well with little kids or other dogs. They aren’t sure how he is with cats. Bandit is a wonderful dog who is looking for his fur-ever home where he will truly be loved and cherished always.

He loves to be petted, has a blast playing with interactive toys, and likes to explore. When Punkin needs some “me time,” that needs to be respected. With that said, he would probably be best in a home with older kids who are kind and gentle. This delightful chap uses his litterbox like a champ. Punkin is an all-around awesome kitty!

Winnie is house trained and does well in a kennel at night. Winnie has lupus, and her medication (25mg Cyclosporine) has to be given 1 hour before food or 2 hours after. It costs about $45 a month. Call Michelle at (435) 703-3926 for more information on Winnie. Her adoption fee is $125.

Waltsouthern utah adoptable pets Walt

Walt is approximately 8 years old. He would like nothing better than to go on a walk with you, go for a run in the desert, be your companion, and then lay down at your feet at the end of the day (or in your lap … he likes laps a lot). Older children would be best for him, and he would also be a great pet for an older couple. Walt is well behaved in a house, and although he is crate trained, he prefers to live in close proximity with his humans. Walt’s foster mom says he is a great dog and he deserves a home of his own. Walt’s only problem is that nobody wants to adopt him because he has stage 1 kidney failure and requires a special diet. The vet says he could live a couple of years, or more, or less. There’s just no telling, but if you’ve seen the videos of him running in the desert, you would know he’s not ready to cash it in yet. Everyone who knows Walt believes he deserves a family. Are you a family that is willing to give love and be loved, even if it is time-limited? If so, call Corinne at (435) 760-3414 and set up a time to meet him. You will fall in love with him … everyone does!

Pebblessouthern utah adoptable pets Pebbles

Pebbles is a sweet little dog with a lot of love to give. A small dog with a big personality, Pebbles is about 4 years old but hasn’t had much contact with people so is quite cautious when meeting new people and takes some time to get comfortable. However, once he gets to know you, he is warm and loving with his favorite place being in the arms of his person. Very playful with other small dogs, he walks well on a leash while displaying typical “small dog bark bigger than his bite” attitude. To welcome Pebbles into your family, call Phyllis at (435) 862-2207. His adoption fee is $125.
