Sashasouthern utah adoptable pets Sasha

Sasha is so pretty that people would gladly line up to meet her, but she’s quite shy with strangers at first. She does best with adults she knows and trusts, and she enjoys being around those in her inner circle. Sasha was born in 2011. She currently lives in a foster home with a Best Friends animal behavior consultant and will need to find a special home with a mature and dog-savvy person who can continue working with her. Since she has shown aggression toward other dogs and cats, Sasha cannot live with other animals. She gets anxious when she is left alone. She will jump fences, and may even chew through them. She is able to break out of crates as well. Sasha likes to play with toys and go for walks. She is looking for a home where she’ll be safe and secure and where the right person will love and care for her.

Manuelsouthern utah adoptable pets Manuel

Manuel is a goofy, happy dog who loves attention and is always ready to go out and have fun. At the Sanctuary, he loves people and playing with other dogs. He is eager to learn new things and very food motivated, so training him is fun and easy. Manuel was born in 2015 and came to Best Friends from a shelter. He has shown guarding behavior with food and toys and will guard them from people and other dogs. He can be jumpy and mouthy when he’s excited, especially when he’s getting harnessed up for a walk, but he is working on this at Dogtown. He learns quickly and is also working on sitting nicely at his gate, going to his ‘place,’ lying down and waiting for his food bowl. Manuel really loves going on adventures, so an active home would be best for him.

Rockysouthern utah adoptable pets Rocky

Rocky is a big, beautiful dog who especially loves women. A little shy at first, he soon relaxes and wants to be friends. And if you talk baby talk to him, he’ll follow you anywhere! With people he already knows, Rocky is eager for attention. He also enjoys splashing and relaxing in his pool. Born in 2009, he’s in good health. Rocky has no idea how big he is and when he sees a friend, he may jump up with excitement. But he’s eager to please and a quick learner. He’s terrible with small dogs though, and although he’s working on his dog communication skills in general, he should avoid small dogs. Rocky just needs to find a big dog lover who won’t let his size stand in the way of being best friends. Could you be the one he’s longing to meet? Rocky is part of our Single Pets* program! That means that he is eligible for a free flight home and waived adoption fee! *Single pets do best as the only dog or cat in the home.

Rubysouthern utah adoptable pets Ruby

Ruby‘s outstanding feature is her tail, which looks like the plume of a quill pen! She was born in early 2013 and came to Best Friends from a cat rescue group in Arizona. Ruby can be shy at first, but then she’ll meow, asking to be petted. She likes to hide but will ask for attention when she feels confident with new people. Ruby has Feline Leukemia (FeLV), so she would need to be an only cat or live with other FeLV cats.

Jamisonsouthern utah adoptable pets Jamison

They estimate that Jamison was born in 2004. He came to Best Friends from a hoarding situation in California and was not properly socialized. But since coming to the Sanctuary, he’s become more friendly and will be the first to jump in your lap. Pet him and give him scratches, and he will reward you with loud purring. He is shy with other cats and intimidated by them. He would be grateful to have a home of his own and he’d be super sweet.

Tiger Pawsouthern utah adoptable pets Tiger Paw

Tiger Paw is very sweet and friendly. He will greet you and follow you around. He likes to be petted and to rub up against your lets. He’s a sweet, affectionate, and mellow boy. Born in 2005, he came from a shelter in California. He gets along just fine with other cats. He’s perfectly healthy and ready to go to a home of his own.

Mr. Pugsouthern utah adoptable pets MrPug

Mr. Pug is a young Shepherd mix with energy to burn. He’s got a gorgeous thick coat and feet that suggest he may be a big guy. It doesn’t seem like he’s been walked on a leash before but once trained would be a great hiking or jogging buddy. An active, loving family would make Mr. Pug a very happy boy. (He was listed as a Pug at the Hildale impound, hence his unusual name).

Dixiesouthern utah adoptable pets Dixie

Dixie is a very sweet, beautiful girl. She has a petite frame for a border collie but all the skills. She lives to play fetch and walks perfectly on a leash following all commands. She recently had an overnight at a volunteers home after her spay surgery and was perfectly behaved. She got along with all of their dogs, pottied outside and loved snuggling on the couch. A kind, loving family would make a perfect furever home for Dixie.

Saydeesouthern utah adoptable pets Saydee

Sparkysouthern utah adoptable pets SPARKY

As you can plainly see, Sparky is adorable when he’s not professionally groomed so just wait until he is! They believe he’s around 10 months to 2 years old and they think he is Tibetan Terrier blend. He loves people and is good with most dogs although he is a terrier so doesn’t mind sticking up for himself if he feels the need to do so. Sparky would like a foster-to-adopt home since he needs to recover from some medical issues. The vet says: “His left hip is luxated, his ACL is torn on the left knee and his patellas luxate. The hip can be fixed with an FHO surgery. The knees can be fixed too.” BAM will pay for all of Sparky’s surgery but they are seeking a foster-to-adopt home where the family would agree to foster him and then, should it be a good match, adopt him when he’s fully recovered from his surgeries. Ideally, the foster family would also be available to drive Sparky to his surgery appointments in Las Vegas. They believe Sparky would be fine with older respectful children but maybe not with toddlers simply because he is / will be in pain for a while and also has long hair that toddlers love to wrap their fingers around and yank on. To inquire about being a foster/adoptive home for Sparky, please call J at (435) 773-5209.

Gussouthern utah adoptable pets GUS

Gus is 4 years old and know to sit and lay down commands. He plays fetch and likes to go for a run a couple of times a week. He’s an awesome hiking partner and gets along with other dogs. Gus would do well with older kids but not younger as he is sensitive to his tail being touched and he can get a little rambunctious when playing. He so wants love and to make someone happy. Although good with other dogs, they don’t know how he is with cats. His adoption fee is $125. To meet Gus, call Dee at (435) 705-0468. Gus’ adoption fee is $125.

Discosouthern utah adoptable pets DISCO

Disco is a handsome, smart, affectionate border collie blend who found himself at a nearby shelter. He would love to be your hiking or jogging partner or go for car rides, camping and just be a good friend. Disco knows sit, down and is the world’s best paw shaker. Disco would not be good with toddlers or young children as he has a strong herding instinct. If you have another dog, Disco would prefer it be a female and close to his size. His herding instinct is a bit much for small dogs and he’d prefer a home without cats. To meet Disco, call J at (435) 773-5209. Disco’s adoption fee is $125.

Divotsouthern utah adoptable pets DIVOT

Divot is a really sweet little dog who lost his home when his owner had to have surgery and was unable to care him. Divot has a tendency to nip at children when they run and has not been friendly with the cat in his foster home so prefers a home without either. Divot has enjoyed cuddling with his owner and now his foster parent. He is crate trained and loves to play with his toys. He’s a bit too food motivated and is on a diet at this time. To meet Disco, call J at (435) 773-5209 or drop by the BAM adoption center at 44 W. State Street in Hurricane most days between 10 and 12 AM. Disco’s adoption fee is $125.

Popeyesouthern utah adoptable pets POPEYE

Popeye is a silly little boy. He lost his eye due to lack of proper vet care by his previous owner but it doesn’t slow him down. He loves either snoozing on the sofa or wildly running around teasing all the other dogs. He doesn’t particularly want to go outside but if you put him outside and get out of his sight, he’ll do his business. He does use the doggie door with encouragement. Popeye’s adoption fee is $125.
