Bijousouthern utah adoptable pets Bijou

To really see Bijou you may need to look twice. That’s because she’s as unassuming as she is sweet. Rather than jumping up for attention or being pushy, she’s polite and minds her manners. Yet she’s always friendly, wiggly and excited to see you. Bijou loves gentle pets and back scratches, and above all else, she just wants to be loved. She was born in 2014. At Dogtown, she’s shown great dog skills. She gets along famously with her male roommate and loves running around the dog park with him. She’ll be a wonderful addition to just about any household and would love a person or family to call her own.

Trixsouthern utah adoptable pets Trix

Trix is active, excited about life and loves the great outdoors. She’s always ready to play fetch, go for walks or run around. Because she’s shy and fearful with strangers, especially men, she’s considered a flight risk and needs a securely fenced yard and a person who can keep her safe. Other than that, Trix is pretty low-maintenance. She may make you work to earn her trust at first, but once she warms up to you, she’s super sweet and will lavish you with affection. She’s been great with other dogs that she’s comfortable with here at the Sanctuary, and she is very attached to her canine roommates. Sometimes, she’s hesitant to go for walks with new people if her dog friends aren’t with her. But at Dogtown, she’s working on getting more comfortable meeting strangers, going places without her doggie roommates and eating her meals when there are strangers around. Born in 2018, Trix came to Best Friends though local animal control and is ready to move on to a home of her own.

Danielsouthern utah adoptable pets Daniel

Daniel is quite an affectionate guy and will climb right into your lap. Once he gets comfortable there, you may have to lure him off with treats. He is a loving dog who bonds strongly with people. Daniel is nervous during storms. He also has some sensitivity in his hind end, so he does not like to be handled there and will give clear signs that he is uncomfortable. However, he loves pets around the head and chest. An energetic guy, Daniel enjoys walks and would do best in an active home. Because he can jump fences, he will need a secure enclosure. He would also do best in an adult-only home due to the sensitivity of his hind end and the fact that he has bitten in the past. Daniel can be picky with his doggie friends, but he can live with other respectful dogs. Born in 2017, he came to the Sanctuary from a shelter in Texas. At Dogtown, he is working on crate training and name recognition. In the right household, this sweet and sensitive guy will make a great companion.

Hildegardsouthern utah adoptable pets Hildegard

Hildegard is a very curious and friendly cat. She loves to play with toys. Born in 2012, she came from a hoarding situation. She is healthy and gets along great with other cats. She even does fine with dogs. Hildegard is both sweet and independent. She takes no time to adjust to new situations and would do great in just about any home.

Nataliesouthern utah adoptable pets Natalie

Natalie is known for her playful personality and her piercing green eyes. She loves to meet new people when they walk into her room and is quick to make friends. Natalie gets along well with other cats, though she might playfully swat on occasion. One of her favorite pastimes is batting around toys and carrying them in her mouth. Born in 2017, Natalie is incontinent and needs to be on medication. This striped beauty would love to find her forever home.

Tinkersouthern utah adoptable pets Tinker

Tinker is a little apprehensive around people she doesn’t know, but once you gain her trust, she’ll let you pet her. Even when she knows you, though, she’s not outgoing and she doesn’t seek out attention. She has no problem with other cats, but she generally keeps to herself. Born in 2010, Tinker came from a shelter in California. She’s quiet and reserved. She likes to find a safe spot where she can hide out until she feels comfortable enough to explore her surroundings. But once she’s comfortable, she’ll play and allow people to pet her. Tinker is a beautiful lady who will do well in a quiet home.

Finnicksouthern utah adoptable pets FINNICK

Finn is such a lover! He makes an excellent lap dog and one of his favorite activities is getting belly scratches. He truly loves his people. He is completely house trained (with doggy door) but, like all male dogs, he may mark a time or two in a new home. He enjoys laying in the sun and sniffing around outside. Finn has been very friendly to every person he has met. He hasn’t been tested with children, but there hasn’t been anything to indicate he wouldn’t do well with respectful children. He gets along with all dogs in his foster home. Finn is still working on not jumping up on people when greeting them. Ideally, Finn would like a doggie friend to play with. He is somewhat submissive so would do best with a friend who is not too dominating. Finn has been known to jump up on the table or go through the garbage if he thinks he might find a tasty treat. They don’t know anything about Finn’s background but they do know he will roll to his back submissively whenever he’s scared and will cower sometimes. He’s not a big barker but will howl occasionally. Finn quickly made himself a favorite of volunteers and of his foster parents so should have no difficulty having you fall in love with him too. His adoption fee is $125. To make an appointment to meet Finn, call (435) 773-5209.

Dollysouthern utah adoptable pets DollysMomsouthern utah adoptable pets DOLLY

Dolly is a typical puppy who loves puppy play. She does have very sharp teeth and may not be a match for young children without close adult supervision. She will chew toys, shoes, etc until she gets a bit older and those teeth will hurt if she decides to chew on a hand or foot of a toddler. They really don’t know what Dolly is but they have included a picture of her mother. She appears to be part Australian Cattle Dog based on her appearance. While her mother is a medium-sized dog, Dolly gives indications that she might grow up to be a medium or large sized dog (60 lbs or over). Be prepared for that if adopting. Dolly is seeking a foster-to-adopt home at this time with the adoption being finalized at the time she is spayed. Her adoption fee at that time will be $150. To apply, please complete an application to adopt and call (435) 773-5209 to set a time to meet Dolly.

Tobysouthern utah adoptable pets TOBY

Toby is absolutely the happiest little dog you will ever want to meet. His tail is always going and he always has a smile on his face. He’s an active little guy who knows exactly what he wants out of life and aims to go about getting it. Right now he wants a family of his own. When he’s frightened or there’s too much chaos around him, Toby can get a wee bit snappy. For that reason, they do not recommend young children for him although older, respectful, dog savvy teen should be fine. He just needs to be left alone when frightened until he calms down and he has good recovery so it doesn’t take long. He absolutely loves lap sitting and playing with other dogs his size (he’s nervous around some big dogs). His adoption fee is $175. To meet Toby call Phyllis at (435) 705-9227. You will definitely fall in love with this little guy!
