Letter To The Editor: Déjà Vu With A Twist – The Ten Year Ponzi

by Quinton Smith – Washington Utah

It was 2008, Obama took the White House with a Yes We Can attitude under the promises of change and universal health care. In 2009 the Government started bailing out the U.S. Financial Institutions, claiming they were ‘too big to fail’ and when the dust settled, poverty cascaded across the nation while law enforcement got to work kicking Americans out of their homes; giving the property back to the financial institutions who had just been reimbursed for the money they never had to lend, and never really lost in the first place. Americans took to the streets and Occupied Wall Street metastasized 2 years after — until law enforcement shut them down too.

Now we’re doing it again! Bailing out financial institutions with one added upgrade: All the cities hit hardest by the Occupy Wall Street movement in the past are on virtual lockdown — while the 99% is pitted against their own distrust of an affluent republican president, a meager $1200 bribe and a trending COVID-19 hashtag with half the real significance of 2009’s H1N1 aka the Rhino Virus.

So my question is: Are we going to keep drinking the kool-aid every 10 years, or will we ever learn?

Mark my words, evictions, and foreclosures are on their way!

This is Déjà Vu with a twist. The twist is, every State that had a large Occupy Wall Street gathering has limited the right to assemble — everything else is the same.
