The Mesquite Library campus, a branch of the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District, welcomes a new cafe, Table of Contents Gourmet Coffee Stall and Eatery, to its main building. The grand opening will kick off at 10 a.m. Aug. 15 at the Mesquite Library Campus, located at 160 W. First N. St. in Mesquite. In special celebration of grand opening day, the Table of Contents cafe will offer its first 400 customers $2.50 off any menu item. Then, beginning Aug. 16, the cafe will offer daily back-to-school specials through Sept. 30.

Table of Contents Gourmet Coffee Stall and Eatery will feature a variety of handcrafted specialty coffee drinks, tea, hot cocoa, cookies, brownies, a not-to-be-missed apple cobbler, hearty sandwiches on fresh-baked croissants, shaved ice and slushies to cool down during the summer heat, and a selection of other snacks.

“Libraries should be a place where people can meet up, enjoy some good conversation and delicious refreshments, and check out their favorite materials or attend an event,” said Ron Heezen, executive director of the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District. “Our new Table of Contents cafe is just another example of how our Mesquite Library Campus provides stellar customer service, and we hope it will become a new gathering spot for local residents.”

Locally based proprietors Hugh Scott McPherson and Galan Scott Allen have a combined 40 years in the food service industry.

“We extend our greetings to the residents of Mesquite, Bunkerville, and the surrounding communities,” said McPherson, owner of Table of Contents. “We look forward to offering delicious handcrafted desserts and specialty drinks to our community at a reasonable price, with hopes that your next family visit to the Mesquite Library Campus is an experience to remember.”

The Mesquite Library Campus underwent a major renovation of the existing building and the addition of a new 13,313-square-foot, state-of-the-art library building. With its grand opening in the spring of 2018, it became an example of the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District’s 21st Century library model, designed to give residents access to cutting-edge technology, free Wi-Fi, and the latest library resources.
