Some of the most powerful land machines on earth are rolling into Kanab this January—just on a much smaller scale. The 2026 Kanab Train Show returns January 16–17, bringing miniature railroads, model train displays, and hands-on fun for kids and adults alike.
Now in its eleventh year, the annual event takes place at the Kanab Center, located directly across from the historic Perry Lodge. Over two days, the show welcomes families, hobbyists, collectors, and curious visitors to explore a detailed world of model railroading.
“Kids and adults love to see what these modellers have created,” said show organizer Robert Lacey. “We have everything from tiny N-scale trains the size of your finger all the way up to G-scale trains the size of a small dog. We’ll even have a scavenger hunt that’s been a lot of fun for kids and adults to play.”

The Kanab Train Show features a wide variety of model train layouts, showcasing different scales, landscapes, and engineering styles. From intricate miniature towns to expansive track systems, the displays highlight both craftsmanship and creativity, offering something to capture the imagination at every turn.
In addition to the model displays, several model train vendors and local food vendors will be on site throughout the weekend. Visitors can browse railroad-themed merchandise, accessories, and collectibles, making the show a popular stop for both longtime hobbyists and newcomers to the world of model trains.
Information booths from several area tourist railroads will also be part of the event. These railroads have donated tickets and other items that will be used for door prizes and auction items, helping raise funds to support future editions of the show. The combination of displays, activities, and prizes ensures there is plenty to enjoy for all ages.
Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for youth, with free entry for children. Donations are welcome and appreciated. The show runs Friday, January 16, from 4–8 PM, and Saturday, January 17, from 9 AM–4 PM. Additional information is available at kanabtrainshow.com.
