The search for a missing Hildale boy, six-year-old Tyson Black, began again this morning in the Hildale flash flood area.
“Even though search areas have been covered, they need to be searched again multiple times,” said incident management team commander Erik Sandstrom. Authorities are calling the search and the goal “Bring Tyson Black Home.”
Josephine Annie Jessop, Naomi Jessop, and eight children ranging in age from 5 to 11 were in the van that was washed away by the flash flood. The Jessop’s son, Joseph Jessop, was the lone survivor who reportedly escaped from the van before it was swept away by the oncoming flash flood. He was attempting to get help when he fled the van.
Della May Black was in a Chevy Suburban that was also caught in the flash flood with five children ranging in age from 4 to 10 years of age. Two young boys from that vehicle also survived. Tyson Black, who was in the Suburban, is still missing.
Searchers covered more than 2,700 acres yesterday.
