Intermountain Dixie Regional Medical Center will host a National Dance Day event July 29 from 8 to 10 p.m. in the Intermountain Health & Performance Center east parking lot. Multiple dance groups from the surrounding area will perform routines onstage, and partygoers are encouraged to dance along. The fire department will keep dancers cool by spraying the crowd. Free snacks and drinks will be available.

National Dance Day was created in 2010 by “So You Think You Can Dance” co-creator and Dizzy Feet Foundation co-president Nigel Lythgoe. The day is held nationwide the last Saturday of every July. The dance day celebration came to southern Utah in 2013 when the Keil family wanted to bring family and dance together for one night. Intermountain Healthcare’s Live Well Center has sponsored the night every year after its first year, encouraging families to get out of the house together for fun and better health.
