The Orchestra of Southern Utah is holding auditions for instrumentalists, singers, and composers for the 2016–17 season.
The Orchestra of Southern Utah is currently auditioning for all orchestral instruments with a special need for low strings and woodwinds. Rehearsals for orchestra concerts begin Aug. 25 and continue on Thursday evenings most weeks through the conclusion of the season on April 6, 2017. An additional dress rehearsal is held before each concert. Auditions begin Aug. 4, 2016.
The Southern Utah Chorale is auditioning soloists for Handel’s “Messiah” with performance dates of Dec. 11 and 12. A list of the oratorios that we will include will be listed on the audition page at myosu.org. Auditions will be held for a panel of judges in the Heritage Center Theater Lobby on Oct. 6 beginning at 6 p.m.
The Southern Utah Chorale is now accepting vocalists to sing for the 76th annual performance of Handel’s Messiah. Men in particular are needed in particular. While no audition is required, we do love singers who are dedicated, willing to learn, and can add to the strength of the choir. Rehearsals begin Oct. 16.
The R.L. Halversen Young Artist Concert will be held on April 6, 2017. This concert presents an opportunity for musicians, singers, and composers between the ages of 13 and 25. Audition CDs are due by Oct. 15 and there is a $20 application fee.
