Orchestra of Southern Utah performs first concert of 2019–20 season

The Orchestra of Southern Utah’s first concert of the season will take place Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Heritage Theater. Under the direction of Carylee Zwang, the orchestra will perform a concert with a story-telling theme.

The evening will begin on the banks of the Mississippi River with “Huckleberry Finn” from Grofe’s “Mississippi Suite.” The orchestra will then perform Ravel’s “Mother Goose Suite” and Lanchberry’s ballet suite “Tales of Beatrix Potter.” The strings will perform the title theme from “Alice” by Danny Elfman and themes from “To Kill A Mockingbird” by Elmer Bernstein.
