sWheat Scoop announced its April partnership with Providing Animals With Support (P.A.W.S.) as part of its litter donation program, sWheat Shares. As the April partner, P.A.W.S. will receive 2,000 pounds of sWheat Scoop litter for use in its shelter.
“Giving back has always been a priority for sWheat Scoop,” said Alyssa Hammerschmidt, marketing manager at sWheat Scoop.
sWheat Shares has partnered with rescues in Ohio, Florida, and Michigan in 2016.
“With the number of cats and kittens we have in our system, this donation will save us money that can now be used to help defray the cost of spays and neuters for the kittens coming of age in the next couple months,” Lynn Burger, president of P.A.W.S.
P.A.W.S. is a nonprofit, no-kill volunteer-run animal rescue organization that has been making strides toward lowering the euthanasia rate in St. George since 2001.
To support its goal of lowering the euthanasia rate, the shelter operates a low-cost spay/neuter program. In addition to this program, P.A.W.S. works to provide quality homes for the animals in its care. At any time, P.A.W.S. will have 30 cats on-site with 50 kittens or cats in foster homes.
