Woody

This Hurricane Harvey survivor is always extremely wiggly and happy. Woody enjoys attention and cuddling with his friends once he has time to bond with them. He loves to play with toys and enjoys learning new tricks through training. Swimming in the pool is his favorite summertime activity and in winter he loves romping through the snow.
He has done well with dogs the same size or bigger than him at Dogtown, though he takes a bit to warm up to new dogs. He does require someone with dog experience because he can guard his food and toys at times. He would love to meet any potential new dog housemates at the Sanctuary.

Elowen

Elowen is a sweet senior lady who keeps to herself but once you get to know her, she loves all of your attention and then some. She is currently in a foster home with other cats and she’s learning how to play with them. If you’re looking for a cat who will spend the rest of her days lounging with you, Elowen will be your new best friend!

Hamlet

Hamlet is a big, handsome cat with a stellar personality. He puts on a shy, quiet facade when you first meet him, but he quickly opens up with some cheek scratches. He has opened up a lot since arriving at the Sanctuary and will now come down to greet us at the door. He is looking for a happy, comfortable forever home, could this be you?

Furry Lewis

Jordan

“Back in my day…”, “Turn that noise down!”, “Kids these days!”, “I’ll just write out a check for that.”, “GET OFF MY LAWN!” That’s what Jordan would no doubt say if he were human. He just gets cranky sometimes. You would too if you had arthritis in your hips, couldn’t hear very well, and needed a night light to find your way around in the house at night.

Jordan is not going to put up with little kids. And he is not a fan of cats. Anyone and anything that has high energy needs to stay far away from him because Jordan isn’t going to take any of that nonsense from anybody. And don’t even think about brushing him, especially on his back. He’ll let you know exactly how he feels about that with a growl and a snap. (It’s the arthritis, remember?)

This terrier blend is estimated to be around 15 years old. In dog years, that’s…well, that’s OLD! However, Jordan does get around pretty well. He weighs about 50 pounds and does well on a leash. Jordan is potty-trained and crate trained. He does okay with calm dogs.

The best home for Jordan would be a calm, quiet place with adults who understand and can accommodate the needs of an elderly dog. Jordan’s just an old dog looking for a soft place to land in his golden years. “Golden years, shmolden years!” That’s what he’d probably say if he were human.

Sissy

Sissy is a gentle soul who loves life and is ready for some fun! This 3 years young Boxer blend is spayed and is up-to-date on her shots. Sissy walks well on a leash. She is good with kids, dogs, and cats. She is NOT good with chickens.

She is house-trained and hoping to find her forever home soon. Don’t miss out on the chance to adopt this black-and-white beauty.

Zoey

Zoey is a sweet, shy little girl who warms up quickly once she gets to know you. She was surrendered for no fault of her own and is looking for a peaceful, loving forever home. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccinations.

This adorable blend of Pug/Rat Terrier enjoys chewing on bones. She seems to be fairly new to leash walking but is learning quickly from her foster sibling. In fact, Zoey LOVES to go for walks and she also enjoys car rides. (Have you noticed her adorable underbite?!)

She is house-trained and will use a doggie door. Mostly, Zoey just loves to sit next to you and snuggle. She doesn’t like loud noises; a quiet home with no kids would be best for her. Her foster mom feels she would make a perfect companion for someone looking for a sweet, snuggly canine companion.

Sassy

Sweet Sassy is the ultimate cuddle bug! This pretty calico LOVES people! Sassy is happiest when she is on your lap, purring with love and companionship! Sassy enjoys being brushed and petted. She’s a fabulous feline who just wants to be with her people.

Sassy is spayed, up to date with her shots, and microchipped. Don’t miss out on the chance to bring this purr-fect kitty home with you. Text 435-767-1468 for more information on sweet Sassy and to schedule a meet n greet with her!

Pickles

Pretty Pickles is looking for her fur-ever home where she will be loved and cherished always. She was surrendered to us through no fault of her own.

This lovely girl comes when you call her name! Pickles loves her treats. She also enjoys playing with toys in the empty bathtub! Pickles also likes to play with (and in!) paper bags and boxes. She’s a calico cutie who will play for hours, and really enjoys chasing after the laser dot!

She’s such a cuddly kitty – on her own terms, of course! Pickles has been declawed by her previous owner.

Kizzy

Blue-eyed beauty Kizzy is still looking for her fur-ever home. This petite Siamese blend is a gorgeous girl who can be a little shy at first. Once she settles in, Kizzy is very friendly and loving!

A great fan of pets and chin scritches, Kizzy is looking for someone to love on her. She is good with cats, dogs, and kids!

Meet JuneBug’s Pups

Beautiful JuneBug was a smart and playful mom who loves to play ball. Her 7 puppies, born December 23, are sure to inherit her best qualities.

These 7 are available as foster to adopt locally until spayed/neutered at which time they will be all yours! If you’re interested in the pups, submit a BAM Adoption Application through the link provided above.

Flynn

Flynn is a four-year-old McNab (or Decker Hunter) Terrier/Border Collie mix. He’s been with his last person since he was a puppy and has been well-loved but his owner could no longer provide him with the care and attention he needs and sadly brought him to us.

Flynn gets along well with other dogs and is well-socialized with people (including children) but hasn’t yet been tested with cats. He loves a good game of tug or a puzzle feeder to encourage his curiosity.

Flynn is a picky eater and guards his food. For some reason, he is afraid of delivery trucks and some men. Unfortunately, this breed sheds more than most so his new adopter will need to be prepared.

A quick Google search on this breed shows they are affectionate, inquisitive, loving, alert, lively, active, intelligent, fearless, and playful dogs who tend to have separation anxiety when their owners leave them alone at home because they bond very closely with them.

Koda

Beautiful Koda is sweet, shy, and friendly. She is 1 1/2 years old. She knows the commands “come”, “sit”, and “down” and is also housebroken and crate trained. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. All she needs is a new family.

We were told she is fearful of men and may be destructive if left alone in the house due to her anxiety but we haven’t witnessed this behavior at the adoption center. Just in case, she needs a patient adopter with experience with this kind of behavior. She gets along with other dogs as long as they aren’t too overwhelming and is good with kids. She loves to be petted!

Dash

Some Native American cultures believe having heterochromia (one blue eye and one brown) means one can see heaven and earth at the same time. They refer to this as having Ghost Eyes and beautiful Dash definitely has them. And if his eyes don’t melt your heart, his cute little nose will! Not only is he stunning, but he’s also a total love bug who will melt right into your arms.

Dash was dumped at Parowan Gap and lived on his own for at least two weeks. One of the local families put food out for him until he became brave enough to be coaxed inside where he immediately found the couch. He was good with their kids and dogs.

Dash is young (we’re guessing six months to a year) and has a lot of energy. He likes to play with other dogs but can be enthusiastic so he’ll do best with some training. He’s afraid of loud noises and sudden movements and terrified of water from a hose. Who knows what this sweet boy went through before he was left to fend for himself? He deserves so much better.

Mercy

Nine-year-old Mercy is a well-mannered girl who would make a nice companion for an individual or a low-key couple. She likes to go for walks or have an enclosed backyard space to run around in and explore but, like most of our canine friends, she prefers the comfort of indoors to come back to when she’s done.

Mercy is kennel trained, enjoys her naps, and likes being the only pet in the house. She’s housebroken and loves the option of a doggie door if provided. Mercy will sit, shake and lie down on command (most of the time). She doesn’t jump on furniture unless invited. She doesn’t jump up on people. She’s polite at feeding time. She’s a sweetheart!

Mercy needs to be food rationed (smaller amounts) or may eat until she gets sick. We’ve found three small meals a day works well for her. She also may have an allergy to chicken.
