July 27th – August 12th, 2023 at The Electric Theater

The Stage Door is excited to announce their Summer Comedy Play, PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE by famous funny man, Steve Martin and directed by local, Kelly Thomas:

Imagine This – Paris, 1904. Einstein and Picasso walk into a bar… This is the set up for Steve Martin’s long-running, off-Broadway, absurdist comedy, “Picasso at the Lapin Agile.” The show places Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso in the famous Parisian cabaret in 1904, just before the renowned scientist transformed physics with his theory of relativity and the celebrated painter set the art world afire with cubism. As the wine and wit flow, the egos ignite and the fate of the 20th century is celebrated as these giants of discovery are met by bar regulars in witty discussion about science, inspiration, art, love, heartache, and what it means to be right on the edge of doing something great with ones’ life. In his first comedy for the stage, the brilliant comic genius and renowned actor / screenwriter, Steve Martin plays fast and loose with fact, fame, and fortune that promises gut busting laughter and infectious hope for a better tomorrow.

The amazingly talented cast of actors include southern Utah’s best with experiences from both stage and screen.
