The rain over the last week has offered a reprieve from the scorching summer heat. However, the weekend forecast shows a return to normal July temperatures. With highs this weekend in St. George expected to rise to the century mark, Brian Head offers a great escape. Add in a car show, Intermountain Bike Race, and live music from Danny Koker and Count’s 77, and Brian Head may be the perfect place to spend Pioneer Day weekend.

The Intermountain Bike Race series continues Saturday, July 25, with the Brian Head Endurance: Challenge the Peak mountain bike race. Twisting through the alpine forest and blasting through wildflower sprinkled meadows makes this a good old-fashioned endurance cross country race. Whether riders go the full distance (44 miles) or half distance (22 miles), they will enjoy the combination of the best parts of single-track with the test-your-mettle grind of endurance riding. Challenge The Peak forces riders to dig deep and unlock their inner champion.

Saturday will also be the first day of Brian Head Resort’s annual car show. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and will feature Danny Koker from History Channel’s “Counting Cars.”The annual car show promises fun for all, with cars, beer, food, and friends! Live music will also be playing on Saturday starting at 6:30 p.m. Steven Swift will open up the show, and Danny Koker’s band Count’s 77 will headline.

In addition to the Pioneer Day weekend events, Brian Head Resort also many other things to do, including brand new activities such as a zipline, rockwall, summer tubing, bungee trampoline and more. All of these activities are only a glimpse at what Brian Head has to offer this summer. The drive, majesty, scenery, and cooler temperatures always make Brian Head a treasure to be experienced. Adding great events makes the stay more fun.

Upcoming events include:

7/31-8/1 Festival of Flavors

8/15-8/16  Flyin’ Brian Mountain Bike Race

8/29  Grub, Sweat, and Beers 5k Extreme

9/19-9/20 Rocktober Fest

It is easy to beat the heat at 10,000 feet. When the mountains start calling, Brian Head offers an answer. Whether going for the day or choosing to spend the night at Cedar Breaks Lodge or The Grand Lodge at Brian Head, an altitude adjustment is just a short drive away.
