Police Chief Stratton to give ‘A Year in Review’ presentation in St. George

It’s getting close to the end of the year, a time commonly used to look back and see what has happened, what was accomplished, and if any improvements can be made. The St. George Police Department is no different, and this Wed. at 12:00 p.m. at the Best Western Abbey Inn, Police Chief Marlon Stratton will be presenting “A Year in Review” as the Chamber Connect speaker. The event is open to the public.

It is not often that we get to hear an annual report by our local police department, or from their point of view, so take advantage of this opportunity to see what your Chief has to share. Chief Stratton not only has the inside track on police matters in the city; he has a wealth of experience after serving the city of St. George for over 29 years.

Though national statistics show St. George has a crime rate that is noticeably lower than the average for cities of similar size, with the chance of being a victim being 1 in 489; and larger, more violent crimes are rare, the St. George Police Department is well-equipped to handle any situation.

Chief Stratton will address how citizens can be part of the solution, become more involved in the neighborhoods they live in, and how to avoid becoming a victim of opportunity.  Besides a year in review, Chief Stratton’s presentation will include information about identity theft/fraud in the area and how to protect your business during the holidays.

The public is invited to attend. Reservations can be made through the Chamber’s website at www.stgeorgechamber.com or by calling 435-628-1650. Don’t miss a chance to hear from your Chief.
