RSQ
RSQ is a non-profit animal rescue in St. George, Utah. Our mission is to be a voice for the voiceless, bettering the lives of animals in Utah’s rural communities. All the animals in our care are fully vetted including spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipped, and any medical care they may need before adoption. We are open for walk-in visitors on Thursdays, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. For more information on RSQ and our adoptable animals, please contact RSQ at (800) 897-1136 or visit rsqutah.org.
Kiva

Meet Kiva. She is an adult aussiedoodle mix. Kiva and two other dogs (we think her sons) were found abandoned in a remote area. Kiva’s coat was severely matted, and she had to be shaved down. Her coat will be gorgeous as it starts to grow back in.
Kiva is coming out of her shell each day we have had her at RSQ. She loves car rides, walks excellently on the leash, likes to sit on the couch and keep you company, and enjoys following her people around. Kiva is a low shedder, and we expect her to be around 50 lbs. when she puts a little more weight back on.
Harry
Meet Harry! This little fella came in with his brother Marv and is grateful for a warm shelter and full belly. Harry is friendly, outgoing, snuggly and SO smart. He adores kids and gets along great with other dogs. And Harry is house-trained.
Make arrangements to meet Harry today!
Mario
Hey, I’m Mario! I’m a young pup with lots of energy and love to spare. They call me a ‘people person’ because I love meeting new human friends. I love playing with other dogs, so if you have a furry sibling, it’s even better! If you’re looking for a furry friend who will always be by your side, look no further! My coloring is super fun with black, fuzzy fur, and some “blonde” highlights! Very “in style” at the moment, if I do say so myself.
I can’t wait to find my forever home and show you all the love I have to give.
Sourdough
Meet Sourdough! This sweet, demure little lady might take a little time to warm up, but once she does, she’ll be your most devoted companion. She absolutely adores belly rubs, and once she’s comfortable with you, she’ll roll over and purr with joy as you give her all the love she craves. Sourdough is a gentle soul who is friendly with other cats, so she’d fit well in a quiet multi-cat home where she can take her time adjusting.
Sourdough is still learning to trust new people, so if you’re patient and understanding, you’ll be rewarded with a loving, affectionate companion. If you’re looking for a quiet, sweet-natured cat who loves to cuddle and hang out, Sourdough is the one for you. Come meet her and see how her shy charm wins you over!
Squirrel
If you’re looking for a cat who LOVES love, look no further—Squirrel is your guy! This orange tabby is aggressively affectionate in the best way possible. His number one priority? Being with YOU!
Squirrel is a people-watcher from his favorite cat tree, but don’t be fooled—he’s not content to just observe. The moment he catches sight of his favorite humans, he demands attention in the most endearing way. Cuddles? Yes, please! And don’t even think about stopping, because Squirrel will enthusiastically remind you that he’s not done yet.
When he’s not soaking up all the love, Squirrel is a playful, energetic boy who enjoys chasing toys, climbing, and making sure he’s the center of your world. His ideal home is one where he’ll get endless pets, snuggles, and love—because this guy just can’t get enough!
If you’re looking for a cat who will be your shadow, best friend, and cuddle champion, Squirrel is ready to move in and steal your heart!
Nikki
Nikki is a stunning Siamese/Snowshoe mix with mesmerizing blue eyes and a soft, plush coat. She’s a new arrival and still adjusting to her surroundings, but she’s already showing her sweet and affectionate nature. Nikki may be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, she loves to cuddle and enjoy quiet companionship.
She does well with other cats and would thrive in a calm home where she can take her time to settle in. If you’re looking for a gentle soul to shower with love and patience, Nikki might be your perfect match!

Kaiser
Kaiser is a extra large boy at 118 pounds and is 5 years old. He loves to play with toys and will fetch but not sure he wants you to have the toy back. He could use a diet and exercise plan to help get him into summer swimsuit shape.
It has to be a cat free home. Kaiser rides well in vehicle. He wants to please and is easily corrected. He would benefit from someone familiar with the shepherd breed or someone with a firm voice.
Bhodie
Bhonde is approximately 11 months old. His owner could not keep him. He is a very friendly dog, loves being around people, and playing with toys.
Bhodie is learning basic commands and leash walking. He is high energy and very intelligent.
Smokey
Smokey is 1 ½ years old and built like a bowling ball with legs. His owner could no longer keep him. Smokey is a very calm, friendly dog who is a smaller sized pit bull weighing 58 lbs and is kennel trained and knows basic commands.
Smokey is chipped, neutered and vaccinated, so is ready to find his new home and people!

Amber & Ozzy
Amber is a sweetheart. She’s s bit shy at first meeting, but she does warm up. She’s lived with many dogs, and has never been without a canine companion, so it is important that she be adopted out with Ozzy, her best bud! Amber is a 1-year-old Dachshund mix.
Ozzy is a 1-year-old Chihuahua mix who is a hoot. This boy loves to run and chase with Amber, enjoys a nice walk, and cuddles in your lap. This dynamic duo are fun loving dogs who will bring a lot of joy into the right home.
Isa
What can you say about a dog as sweet and loving, playful and well-mannered as Isa? I guess we just did! This 2½-year-old beauty loves to go on walks, adventures, runs, play with other dogs, but most importantly she loves cuddles with humans. She’s a very well-rounded girl who is looking for a fun-loving family.
Isa is a Heeler mix and weighs about 50 pounds. She will be a great pet!
CeCe
CeCe is a one-year-old calm, loving, sweet cat. She is very playful and cuddly. She gets along with other respectful cats and loves her humans. She has soft, bunny-like fur which makes her the perfect lap cat. This girl is ready to go to a loving home.
Come into the PAWS Cat Room and meet her along with all of her friends. You’re sure to take home someone home with you.
Shay
Shay is a sweet Tortie with just a little bit of the tortitude but in a fun way. Once she decides you are her person, she will sit on the couch with you. She crawls right into your lap and lets you pet her all over and even rolls onto her back and stretches out. Some volunteers call her a “nibbler” too. She doesn’t bite, but when she’s playful, she’ll slowly try to bite you because she knows she shouldn’t do it but wants to see if she can get away with it, too. If you just say, “No nibbles,” she immediately stops and then rubs up against you. She really is the sweetest, silliest girl!
Cairo
Cairo is a quiet love bug. She loves to get scratched and gives head bops in return! She is so cute with her soft, black/white fur and long whiskers. She is a tiny, little angel who was rescued from the California wildfires.
She is good with other cats and always uses her litterbox. Come and meet this beauty at PAWS!

Bells
Bells is a cute little blend of Maltese and Poodle. She can be a little shy initially, but once she gets to know you, you are hers and she is all yours!
Bells loves treats and she enjoys going for walks. She’s just 7 years old and has lots of life to live and love to give. Good things come in small packages and Bells is a perfect example!
Jasper
This Border Collie/Poodle mix is just 4 years old. He weighs about 55 lbs and has an active, playful energy level. Jasper is friendly with cats and people.
Jasper has completed a board and train with Mindful Canine and has advanced obedience and off leash reliability.
Jasper knows: Sit (at a distance, in motion, and with an implied stay), Down (at a distance, in motion, and with an implied stay), Go to your bed, Heel, Eye Contact, Off, Jump up, Come Get it, No, Loose leash walking, Leave it, Out, This way (for hiking off leash if you don’t need a full recall but a change of direction), and Kennel (He knows how to go to his kennel on command and is well crate trained).
Jasper would do well in an active household where he can get plenty of playtime and outdoor adventures. He would love a family who’s experienced with dogs or willing to give him the guidance and structure he needs. A home with a yard would be perfect for him to run around in, and he’d enjoy having the right dog as a dog sibling to play with. Jasper would thrive with a family that has time to devote to his energetic personality and would be a great companion for an active person or family.
Frankie
Frankie’s life before us was pretty quiet. He lived with a blind lady for 7 years warming her lap. During that time, he put on some extra pounds. His lady went to assisted living. Although we know he misses her – Frankie is enjoying more freedom, dog friends, and more walks.
This sweet 7-year-old Chihuahua blend loves toys. We don’t know how he is with children. He takes a bit to warm up to new folks.
Frankie is a great boy. He is house trained, he loves going for car rides, and exploring. He is a sweet little lap warmer who just wants to be close to you.
Tina
Tina is a gorgeous, 3-year-old dilute calico with long, silky fur. Well, it’s not long at the moment because she had to be shaved to get rid of mats in her coat. So’ for the time being, Tina looks pretty in her pink sweater!
This girl is sweet and loving. Tina would love to find a home with a caregiver who will gently brush her fur to keep it free from tangles. Swing by the St George PetSmart to meet her.
Chloe
Little Chloe is the shy one out of the litter. She is extremely sweet and loves to cuddle with her foster mom’s granddaughter.
Chloe does not like dogs. We think she would do great with someone who does not have other pets and has time to give Chloe all the attention and cuddles she so deserves. She has been shy since day one. However, she will run right to her foster, so we know she will make a purr-fect companion for a very lucky person.
Chloe is currently in a foster home. Once she has been spayed, she will be available to adopt.
Because Animals Matter
Because Animals Matter is dedicated to reducing animal abuse and neglect for adoption through a network of foster homes and the Because Animals Matter Center, a transition facility. Lady Bug
Sweet Lady Bug is an incredibly beautiful girl, about two and a half years old with fur like velvet. At 40 lbs, she’s the perfect mid-size girl.
Just like the ladybug she’s named after, Lady Bug is here to bring good luck and joy to your life! This sweet, active girl is eager to please and has been thriving in her foster home. She’s responsive to commands and has been practicing off-leash recall with her foster family, proving she’s as smart as she is lovable. While she might take a few seconds to warm up to someone new, she quickly realizes they’re here to show her love and kindness. Once she knows you, she loves to play with toys and go on fun adventures.
Lady Bug gets along great with other dogs (big and little!) and would love to have a canine friend to play with and learn from. Her compatibility with cats is uncertain but she would likely require training and/or a slow introduction. A crate isn’t her favorite place to be but she has proven she can be trusted. When left unsupervised with her current canine siblings, she is well-behaved and non-destructive. She’s spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and ready to find her forever home.
Sophie
Gorgeous Sophie is a calm, yet energetic five-year-old girl who is great with kids and other dogs. She is extremely smart and eager to please. She is house trained and uses a doggy door but, if one is not available, she will let you know if she needs to go outside.
Sophie has been diagnosed with a condition called Pannus. It is an auto immune disease which affects her eyes. It is treatable, but she could eventually lose her sight. This doesn’t slow her down though; she still loves to play with her toys and take long walks.
Jodi
With her cute underbite, three-year-old Jodi might just be one of the most adorable girls we’ve ever met! Jodi came to us with a difficult history but thanks to her perseverance and the love and patience of the BAM team, she has blossomed into a staff favorite. She’s trusting, wiggly, and full of joy once she feels comfortable and builds a bond with someone.
Jodi requires slow, managed introductions with new people and is selective when it comes to other dogs. She’s searching for someone to be her person: a dedicated adopter who can provide the love and consistency she needs to thrive. While Jodi has lived with kids in the past, we recommend a quieter home with no children. She could potentially live with another dog if they hit it off during a meet-and-greet but she may do best as the only dog in the home. Jodi needs a calm, structured environment where she can settle into a routine without frequent interruptions from visitors.
Jodi is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccinations. She is 45 pounds. She has made incredible progress since coming to us but will need an adopter who’s committed to continuing her growth. To support her transition, we’ll provide a complementary board-and-train prior to her adoption once she has a committed adopter.
Clyde
One-and-a-half-year-old Clyde is the perfect mid-size boy. He’s quiet, gentle and loving; a little shy at first but warms up quickly. He likes to play with his toys, walks well on a leash and gets along with other dogs, even the little ones. He is a bit afraid of cats, however, but definitely not aggressive towards them.
Clyde’s owner said he wasn’t playful enough so they traded him in for a puppy. When he was left with us, his heart was broken, his coat thin and dull, his skin dark, he had no energy, and his tummy was upset. He was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism (which is common in dogs) and Addison’s disease (which is not so common). He has begun treatment and we can already see the improvement.
Because his doctor is fine-tuning his medication and he needs to go in for occasional tests, Clyde is available LOCALLY ONLY. That means we are only accepting applications from the Hurricane area (Washington County).
Tank
Tank is a six-year-old pit bull with a heart as big as his smile! This sweet, snuggly boy is a total cuddle bug who loves to burrow under blankets and be close to his humans. He’s happiest when he’s by your side, whether it’s lounging on the couch or doing his adorable “happy tippy taps” when he gets excited.
Tank is a gentle, loving soul who thrives on human affection. He enjoys his favorite chews and will melt your heart with his big, goofy grin. Plus he’s currently in a foster/board and train program with CKC Training and will come with free follow-up training sessions to ensure he settles into his forever home with ease. Unfortunately, he isn’t comfortable around children.
Kairi
Sweet Kairi loves everyone: other dogs, kids, and grownups. When strolling around the neighborhood, she even seemed to be ok with cats, chickens and horses. She’s happy just hanging out, whether going out for a stroll, cruising around town in a car or snuggling next to you on the couch … as long as she knows she’s safe and loved.
Kairi is housebroken, spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. She’s also very smart and has been trained to follow several commands. This lovely lady is ready to meet her new family and start a brand new life.
