Sosasouthern utah adoptable pets Sosa

Sosa is a sensitive sweetheart. He’s also a fun, active dog who loves toys, water, walks, and car rides. Born in 2014, Sosa was picked up as a stray and came to Best Friends from a shelter in Indiana. Sosa appreciates having a predictable routine. He loves to lounge in the shade after playing in his kiddie pool. He also enjoys breaks in his crate where he can work on one of his favorite things: a frozen treat. Sosa loves doing agility and catches on quickly to new training cues. He’s also learning to play with a flirt pole, which encourages him to chase and play with a toy on a long rope while helping him with impulse control. Sosa really likes hanging out with his friends at Dogtown. He’s a good role model for other dogs, and he has plenty of playdates here. Sosa is working on getting more and more comfortable when he’s out exploring new places. He’s looking for a patient person or family who can help him learn about life in a home since they believe he never had one of his own. Although he may need a slight adjustment period in a home, Sosa is a wonderful dog who bonds well with people and would probably do best with a dog friend to show him the ropes.

Ehusouthern utah adoptable pets Ehu

This is Ehu, a Hawaiian boy with a rad haircut! His happy, positive energy and unique appearance make this kid absolutely one of a kind. Ehu is an adventurous soul and would love to lead his people through forests, rivers or valleys and up onto mountain peaks. He is known around Dogtown for being a great playmate for other dogs, and for giving the best cuddles on sleepovers. Give Best Friends a call if you’re ready to meet your new best friend!

Pulasouthern utah adoptable pets Pula

Pula is a super sweet girl once she is comfortable with you. She is a little fearful with new people, but treats are the way to her heart. Pula loves to play and be a goofy girl. She is a star at agility and likes to show off what she knows. Pula is most confident and happy when she’s completing agility tasks and/or has a job to focus on. She also loves stuffy toys and enjoys carrying them around showing them off to people. Another way that Pula shows off her silly side is during play dates with other dogs. She gets along well with most dogs she’s met at the Sanctuary and loves to run, zoom and play chase. Pula really loves stretching her long legs by running around Dogtown’s off-leash park.

Reneesouthern utah adoptable pets Renee

Renee has cattitude. Born in 2010, she has mellowed with age and become more accepting of people, but she will definitely let you know when she’s had enough of your attention. She doesn’t have an issue about living with other cats, but she’s mostly a loner. She doesn’t like being picked up. She mostly just wants to sit near you. If you sit by her, she very well may climb into your lap and let you pet her. But she’ll run off when she’s had enough. If you don’t mind letting her rule your roost, Renee is a gorgeous lady who’d like to live out her golden years on her terms.

Tebowsouthern utah adoptable pets Tebow

When Tebow first arrived at Best Friends, they were intimidated by his hissing until they realized that he was just acting brave because he was scared. If you ignore his attitude, you’ll find he’s actually sweet and cuddly. But he’s probably had a rough life outdoors and may never have had a home. He does very well with other cats. He was probably born around 2010 and is in good health. Wouldn’t you love to give this brave little guy his first home?

Naomisouthern utah adoptable pets Naomi

Naomi is very shy, but if you approach her slowly with a bowl of food, you can coax her to come to you. She’ll even let you pet her while she eats. If startled, she will hiss, but that’s only out of fear. She does fine with other cats. We estimate she was born in 2013. She was living in a warehouse when it was sold, and the new owner wanted the cats out. Naomi would like to be more social; she’s just very unsure about all the changes. But she’d like to have one more change ? to a forever home where she can settle in and blossom.

Lokisouthern utah adoptable pets Loki

Back in March, RSQ Dogs received a call about a terrible hoarding situation in California. 30 dogs had been living unattended in a motor home. To avoid euthanasia, RSQ took in 6 of these pups. Loki, one of those pups, is a perky 13 years young. He loves the great outdoors whether laying in the sun or sunflowers. He is getting more used to people & enjoying their attention and has gone to a foster home. With patience and love, this dog could become your best friend and most loyal companion. A second chance for a normal life is all this little guy wants.

Billy was born April 24, 2019, and has been raised in a foster home with his mom, dad, sister and 2 brothers. He is very friendly and playful, enjoys snuggling and sleeping in a warm pile of blankets. He is great with other cats but would prefer not to share his wet food. He is house trained and would be good in a home with children or alone. He is a beautiful orange tip seal point with a nice smooth coat. Billy would love to be a part of your family.

Domsouthern utah adoptable pets DOM

Dom is the most lovable puppy-dog-eyed Beagle/Bassett Hound blend you’ll ever meet. This low-rider came to live at That BAM Place while suffering from Cherry Eye (it doesn’t look great but is mostly cosmetic) but that is being corrected and, after that, he’ll be ready for his new family. Dom has clearly lived in a home before and has pretty impressive manners (although he does get up on BAM’s sofa and is still working on the dog door). Though Dom doesn’t bay like a hound, he has a bit of separation anxiety at the adoption center when he has to be put in his kennel while other dogs are out. This would likely be different in a home environment and we do offer trial placements to make sure he is right for you and your home. Dom does not do well with young children. Although Dom gets along with the wide variety of dogs they have in residence with him (often napping with the smallest 6-pound dog), he would enjoy being an only dog as he prefers to be with people over dogs if given the choice. To find out more about Dom or arrange a meeting with him, contact Julie at (435) 773-5209 by texting or calling. His adoption fee is $125.

Barrysouther utah adoptable pets BARRY

Were you widowed by a grumpy old man? Have you been looking to add another to your life since his passing? BAM has got the dog for you! In all seriousness, little Barry has good reason to be grumpy. He came to BAM with a broken pelvis from a California shelter. Since being at BAM, the poor guy has had to deal with puppies in his space, big dogs who don’t respect him an–adding insult to injury–he now has kidney stones. BAM wants the old guy to catch a break and live out the remainder of his life with someone he can find solace and love. Barry loves to rub his back on the floor and wiggle and loves to have belly rubs. He enjoys certain members of the BAM team while others simply aren’t his cup of tea. To find out more about Barry, meet him and see if he’s a match for you text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209.

Freddiesouthern utah adotpable pets FREDDIE

Freddie is an adorable 5-year-old chihuahua. Freddie came to BAM in very rough shape but, after gaining some weight, having surgery and a dental, he is now ready for his forever home. Freddie loves to snuggle with his humans and likes to play with toys. His foster mom recently learned he even likes to play fetch! He gets along well with small dogs but generally isn’t a big fan of big dogs. Freddie is housebroken with a dog door and is crate trained. He would prefer a quieter home without small children. To meet Freddie or find out how to adopt him, contact Julie at (435) 773-5209. His adoption fee is $125.

Butchsouthern utah adoptable pets BUTCH

Butch joined the BAM family having been labeled a 17-year old dog who was likely more in need of a hospice home than typical rescue. Now that he’s in care and has been seen by their vets, they have the better assessment that he is still a senior but more likely 10–13 years old. Butch, however, has some neurological defects and impaired vision that can make him seem older. In spite of those physical issues, Butch has learned how to cope with two groups of five or more dogs in both his foster home and at their adoption center where he spends most of his days. Butch will often motor around with a funny little wobble but can see shapes or contrast well enough that he doesn’t typically bump into things. Their biggest concern for this little guy is that he ate some gravel and had to undergo surgery to have rocks removed from his system that wasn’t moving either direction. This may be something hell try to do again if unsupervised so they will be quite particular about the home he ends up in to ensure his health and well-being. To find out more about Butch, text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209. His adoption fee is $100 but Butch is also eligible for their Seniors Helping Seniors Program. If you are 65 years of age or older, ask Julie about the program.
