Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is located five miles north of Kanab at 5001 Angel Canyon Road. All adoptable cats and dogs are spayed or neutered and up to date on vaccinations. Kiki
Kiki is a pop of personality who brings a big smile to everyone who meets her! Toss her favorite toy and she will joyfully come running back to you to repeat the fun. She’s the perfect size to bring along everywhere–she loves car rides and is so ready to be your co-pilot! Kiki is chock-full of positive energy and will sit sweetly for you to channel those good vibes and recharge for your next adventure together.
Mickey
Mickey is as fun-hearted as the character he’s named after. He loves cuddling and long walks with his favorite people. Mickey takes a little bit to warm up but once he does he will be your best friend for life. He enjoys playing with toys and getting lots of treats. He is very picky with other dogs and would prefer to be your one and only bud. He’s extremely loyal and will do anything for his people. Come out and meet Mickey and see if he’s the guy for you!
Buford
If you’re looking for a young, active dog, that is ready for adventure and is super cute to boot, well then, Buford is the dog for you. He loves to play with other dogs and can wrestle and chase with the best of them. Buford is eager to learn and would benefit from someone that can continue to work with him on his basic training. He walks very well on a leash and is already crate trained. Buford is a handsome youngster looking for an adventure buddy could that be you?
Jack
Jack is a staff favorite around Cat World! He is a cute little guy who likes attention and loves to be petted. Though he was born in 2010, he’s still very active and playful. In fact, he’ll play with just about anything that moves. He likes to sit on laps, but his energy doesn’t allow him to stay long, and he’ll jump down to play again. He tries to make friends with other cats and usually succeeds with playful ones. Jack is very entertaining and will roll on his back for you. He had a home but lost it when his family lost their home. He’d love to have one again. Could you use some cute entertainment?
Divya
Divya is shy and usually runs away when you approach her, but she can sometimes be lured out with string toys and baby food, especially if you’ve built her trust. She is playful with other young cats, but she has been bullied by some older dominant cats. Born around 2015, she was rescued as a stray. Divya is a healthy girl who always uses the litter box. She’d love to find a home that has lots of toys and food.
Serena
‘Good morning!’ Serena greets her caregivers every morning. She lets them know she’s excited to see them by ‘talking’ to them. This adorable little girl appreciates petting from people she knows. It takes her a little time to trust strangers, but if you’re persistent, she’ll warm right up to you. Born in 2007, Serena came to the Sanctuary from Salt Lake City. In good health, she gets along fine with all other cats. Wouldn’t you like to wake up to Serena’s soft face and warm greeting every morning?
RSQ Dogs+
RSQ Dogs+ is Southern Utah’s newest nonprofit animal rescue group. It is an all-volunteer group dedicated to saving the lives of animals in underserved, rural areas of Washington County. All of the animals in their care are fully vetted including spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any medical care they may need. Providing Animals With Support (PAWS)
PAWS Adoption Center is located at 1125 W. 1130 N. in St. George. Please submit an application at dixiepaws.org. Call (435) 688-9748 or email officepaws@gmail.com. All pets are microchipped, spayed or neutered, and current on vaccinations. Below are the pets currently available for adoption from the shelter.
Mars
Mars this sweet Chihuahua/ Terrier mix just turned 10 weeks old, is almost potty trained and just a sweet, loveable boy. He has all of his vaccinations, is microchipped and will be neutered at a later date. His adoption fee is $225.
Vivie
Vivie is a 10 week old Catahoula mix. She is a cuddly lovable, smart cookie. This girl is already learning her commands and working on potty training. She has a very sweet personality and loves to play with kids and other dogs. Like all PAWS dogs she is will be fully vaccinated, is microchipped, dewormed and will be spayed when old enough. Her adoption fee is $225.
Tom
Tom is a purrfect BIG cat. This chill guy is special! He loves his humans, is fine with other calm cats, but he is afraid of dogs. Tom will thrive in a calm loving home and he will win your heart over instantly. His adoption fee is $65.
Shadow
Shadow is a sweet girl. This 10-year-old has a lot of life to live. She is super sweet, loves to cuddle and would make a wonderful companion cat. She lives with other cats PAWS free roam room. Her adoption fee is $85.
Willow
Willow is a 5-year-old beauty. This sweet girl adores human affection, is a calm, loving, and playful cat. She is in the free roam room at PAWS and gets along with other cats, stop by and lose your heart to this girl. Her adoption fee is $75.
Because Animals Matter
Because Animals Matter is dedicated to reducing animal abuse and neglect through education. It offers fully vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped animals for adoption through a network of foster homes and the Because Animals Matter Center, a transition facility. It also welcomes volunteers for a variety of activities and needs foster families for animals awaiting their forever homes. Cole and Jake
Cole is a black/white terrier blend and Jake is a white terrier blend and they are looking for an adoptive home together. They lived together in their previous home and look to each other for comfort and support. Jake & Cole are housebroken, crate trained, love car rides, love walks, and love lap sitting. They have been through a lot lately and aren’t comfortable yet showing their true personalities but they do a lot of tail wagging and Jake will sometimes talk to you. Jake is the more outgoing of the two and Cole is a bit timid. For this reason, BAM will not place with young children but they expect they would be fine with respectful, older kids. Jake is 10 years old and Cole is 8 years old. These dogs are easy keepers and would be good for a first-time dog owner as well as folks who have more experience. Jasper
Jasper is a 1-1/2-year-old terrier blend with the sweetest disposition ever. He loves to play with other dogs and with humans as well. He is a high energy little guy and would enjoy walks, hiking, and play with his human. Jasper knows how to use a dog door. Jasper will be neutered on February 20. He is available LOCALLY ONLY as a foster to adopt with adoption to be finalized after his neuter. Lily
Lily is a beautiful 3-year-old girl who came to BAM with a brand new litter of puppies. Now that they’ve found their homes and she has been spayed, she is looking forward to finding a home of her very own. Lily is an oversized lap dog and she’s happy to climb on yours if she’s allowed! She loves to go for walks and is happy to “sit” or “down” for you…if you have a treat for her. She loves her toys and will hoard them. Lily is great with small dogs and will make friends with bigger dogs that don’t try to dominate her. A meet with potential dog siblings prior to adoption is best. Tibby
Tibby is the sweetest 9-year old black and tan Miniature Pinscher blend who’s just looking for a warm lap to snuggle in. Tibby is housebroken and knows how to use a dog door. She likes to go for walks and car rides. Although she hasn’t met a two-legged stranger she doesn’t love, she isn’t a big fan of big dogs. She is good with smaller dogs and may make friends with a bigger, friendly dog. She is said to be good with children and with cats. Missy
Missy is a gorgeous blue Cane Corso/Pit blend who was very reserved when she first joined BAM but has begun to come out of her shell in foster care. They are sure this means that an adoptive home would get to see even more of her personality shine. Missy would love a person or family that she didn’t have to share with another dog. However, it may just be that she prefers to be the only girl dog in the home, so if you have a male dog and would like to introduce them, BAM can facilitate that. Missy might look tough but deep down she is just a softy that loves to give kisses and cuddles. She also loves to go on walks and car rides and gets a little sad when you leave her behind. She is very choosy on who her furry house companions are because she likes a lot of love so she does best being the only dog. However, she doesn’t mind other dogs visiting. Missy is 100% potty trained and would be best with older children because she needs a quiet environment. She is a wonderful dog who will be a great addition to someone’s family. The City of Mesquite Animal Shelter
The City of Mesquite Animal Shelter is located at 795 Hardy Way and is open for adoptions Mondays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 3 p.m. Please call (702) 346-7415 during these hours to speak to the front desk, or visit mesquiteanimalshelter.petfinder.com. Animal Control may be reached by phone or voicemail at (702) 346-5268. Adoption fees include spaying or neutering and a one-year rabies shot. Mesquite residents only receive one-year city pet licenses.

Day Lily came to the shelter after being found in the desert with three siblings. She is approximately 9 months old. She loves people and receiving attention. She is partially house trained and learning to play with toys. She does well on a leash, knows sit and is very attentive. She shows a willingness to learn and to please. She will need high secure fencing as she likes to explore. Her adoption fee is $60.
Lotus
Lotus came to the shelter after being found in the desert with three siblings. He is friendly and loves being with people. Lotus is learning to walk on a leash and to play with toys. He knows sit. He would do best in a home as the only dog. is approximately 9 months old. He will need high secure fencing as he likes to explore. His adoption fee is $60.
Max
He is a sweet boy, that enjoys walks, and loves to play with his toys. He is a big boy, so a home with a fenced yard where he can run around would be best. He is approximately 3 years old and is very active. He bonds quickly and does not like being alone. His adoption fee is $60.
Koda
Koda is an extra-large boy and is on diet and exercise program. He has lost over 40 pounds since coming to shelter. His blood work is normal. Koda loves being with people, going for long walks and playing with toys. He is a people pleaser. His adoption fee is $60.
Kiki Dee
Kiki Dee needs a quieter atmosphere and would appreciate a home with adults only or calm older children. She is low maintenance, low fuss, and is the perfect housemate. She would do best as the only cat in the home as she doesn’t like a lot of competition for her affection. She is quite striking in her looks with a beautiful soft coat. The senior Special Adoption fee is $20.
