Tarlton
It’s hard to know Tarlton and not think he’s something special. Maybe it’s the way he carries himself, or his sharp mind, or maybe how he makes each of his people feel so special when you’re with him. Tarlton is a super smart dude who loves to learn new things and has lots of tricks in his arsenal that he loves to show off, like “roll over”, “twir”, or “wave”. He’s a top notch cuddler and although he’s quite a large dog, he sometimes forgets and thinks he’s a lap dog. He’ll cover you in slobbery kisses and quickly roll over for belly rubs. Tarlton is young at heart, and he doesn’t seem to let his old age bother him, so hopefully it won’t bother you either! He’s also part of Best Friends *Single Pets program! That means he is eligible for a free flight home and waived adoption fee! *Single pets do best as the only dog or cat in the home.
Jet
Jet loves to play fetch, and if you tell him “closer” he will walk up and drop the ball beside you. He enjoys water and likes to play with the hose. Jet in the past nervous and fearful around men but warms up with treats and walks. Jet should meet any potential doggy housemates before going home with them. He would prefer a home without cats. He does enjoy leisurely walks and lounging outside in the sun. Jet is looking for a person who can help him feel loved and safe. If that sounds like you, Jet will be waiting to meet you.
Pixie
Pixie is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. She loves taking long walks, getting belly rubs and playing in the water. Although she can be picky about her doggie friends and bossy with other dogs at times, she loves playing with them once she’s been introduced properly and she gets to know them. Pixie tends to guard food, so precautions must be taken when feeding her or giving her treats. She can be a bit nervous when new people try to handle her too much, but she loves playing with people she knows. Pixie was born in 2014 and came to Best Friends from a rescue organization in Arizona. She would be a great addition to an active home.
Kimball
Rescued by a hiker who found him struggling to get out of a river, Kimball is the ultimate survivor. Shy but sweet, he likes to play hide n’ seek and come out of hiding when all is quiet. That’s when you’ll find that Kimball is a sweetheart who loves to be petted. Kimball loves treats and is very good at giving affectionate head butts. He’s looking for a quiet home, that he can call his own.
Opie
Opie is very shy, but if you approach him gently he’ll allow you to pet him. He loves it if you play with him with wand toys and he’ll fly in the air to catch them. He’s been bullied by other cats and is shy around them. Born in approximately 2014, he was found as a stray in Arizona. Opie has Feline Leukemia (FeLV), so he’ll need to be an only cat or live with other FeLV cats. He is very lovable and would be so happy in a home where someone would play with him. Opie has a brother named, Brink. Two FeLv+ cats are always better than one!
Starburst
Starburst is looking for a home with very patient people. Estimated to be born in 2013, he was found abandoned. Starburst is still shy towards other cats and people, but Best Friends has known cats like him, and know they have a lot more to offer. If you ever get a chance to visit the beautiful sanctuary in Southern Utah, come meet Starburst and give this sweet, beautiful cat a chance.

Chester
Chester is a sweet, 10-year-old beagle. While old, he is definitely young at heart and full of pep. If his love and kisses don’t win you over, his old man snores surely will. Chester is great on leash, he loves to go on hikes and sniff out new areas. When you’re home, he likes to cuddle under a blanket right beside you. Chester is smart and knows how to sit, lay, and shake. He is currently learning how to share his food and would love a person who will continue working on that with him. Chester hasn’t met another person or dog he doesn’t like, and would love to meet you! Tank
Tank is a 3-year-old Chiweenie. He’s a cute bouncy little guy who is looking for his new home. He likes to play, is good with other dogs, children and loves to go hiking. He’s a happy dog who loves belly rubs. He’s vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and neutered. Tank’s adoption fee is $125.
Gertrude
Gertrude’s foster says “Gertrude is my adorable 10-year-old foster. This voluptuous gal enjoys being groomed and does exceptionally well with bath time. She was quite shy and timid when she first arrived in my home a little over 2 weeks ago. She would hide under the bed or couch but she’s finally come out of her shell. She still enjoys her alone time in a little fort behind the couch but she also likes hanging out with my cat on the couch. When I hold her, pet her or groom her she likes to make biscuits so I affectionately call her Lady Biscuits. I feel she would do well in a quiet home with other senior fur babies or gentle calm ones. She doesn’t care much for toys…but loves her wet food & kibbles. She is a complete cuddle bug and likes sleeping with me and/or my cat. Gertrude is so stinking adorable!”
DeWitt
DeWitt is 5-years-old and a very handsome and loving cat. This sweetheart will make a good companion or family cat. His adoption fee is $75.
Anna
Anna is a 10-month-old Tuxedo and is an incredibly loving, social cat. She’ll follow you from room to room just for companionship. She’s the perfect lap cat and won’t miss a chance at a morning cat scan on your belly. She is gentle and patient with small children and doesn’t mind other cats. Her adoption fee is $85.

Dom
Dom is the most lovable puppy-dog-eyed Beagle/Bassett Hound blend you’ll ever meet. This low-rider came to live at That BAM Place while suffering from Cherry Eye (it doesn’t look great but is mostly cosmetic) but that is being corrected and, after that, he’ll be ready for his new family. Dom has clearly lived in a home before and has pretty impressive manners (although he does get up on BAM’s sofa and is still working on the dog door). Though Dom doesn’t bay like a hound, he has a bit of separation anxiety at the adoption center when he has to be put in his kennel while other dogs are out. This would likely be different in a home environment and we do offer trial placements to make sure he is right for you and your home. Dom does not do well with young children. Although Dom gets along with the wide variety of dogs they have in residence with him (often napping with the smallest 6-pound dog), he would enjoy being an only dog as he prefers to be with people over dogs if given the choice. To find out more about Dom or arrange a meeting with him, contact Julie at (435) 773-5209 by texting or calling. His adoption fee is $125.
Barry
Were you widowed by a grumpy old man? Have you been looking to add another to your life since his passing? BAM has got the dog for you! In all seriousness, little Barry has good reason to be grumpy. He came to BAM with a broken pelvis from a California shelter. Since being at BAM, the poor guy has had to deal with puppies in his space, big dogs who don’t respect him an–adding insult to injury–he now has kidney stones. BAM wants the old guy to catch a break and live out the remainder of his life with someone he can find solace and love. Barry loves to rub his back on the floor and wiggle and loves to have belly rubs. He enjoys certain members of the BAM team while others simply aren’t his cup of tea. To find out more about Barry, meet him and see if he’s a match for you text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209.
Tony
Not only is Tony a handsome, golden eyed, mature teenager, he is also a very loving and loyal boy! Although timid at first, especially with men, there will be no training involved. Tony had a rough start but somewhere along the way he has learned many commands, is crate trained, potty trained, and an extremely well behaved house dog. A very attached and affectionate dog, Tony walks well on leash, rides well in the car, does well with all other dogs and children (cats unknown) and, in his foster home, shows no sign of any aggressive or poor behavior. He’s pretty much the perfect companion! Tony is about 2 yrs. of age and around 40 lbs. He has had all of his vaccinations, is micro-chipped and will be neutered prior to finalization of his adoption. He is available locally as a foster to adopt. If you would like to meet Tony at his foster home in St. George, Utah, please call his foster mom at 858-531-8919.
Rainbow
This beautiful girl is 1-1/2 years old. She is part kangaroo and part firecracker! She would love to have an active family with room to play and a 6’ fence. Rainbow gets along with everyone but may have too much energy for small children. She’s still young and needs work with her manners, but she’s very smart and should learn quickly. She is housebroken, can use a doggy door, and knows how to sit but she’s too wiggly to stay sitting for long. To find out more about Rainbow, meet her and see if she’s a match for you, text or call Julie at 435-773-5209.
Peppy
Even though Peppy likes playing with the other dogs, he loves, loves, loves being with his people…which explains why he’s not a fan of being in a crate (but who is, really?). This sweet little man will love and adore you and is willing to stay by your side always. Peppy is available locally as a foster to adopt dog because he still needs to be neutered when the current coronavirus situation is resolved. To find out more about Peppy, meet him and see if he’s a match for you text or call Julie at 435-773-5209.
