Staxsouthern utah adoptable pets Stax

Stax loves to meet new people, especially if they have food. He is eager to please and very food motivated, and after some treats and a walk, he is a very friendly guy. Stax walks nicely on a harness and leash and has gone through Canine Good Citizen training in the past. He loves being with his special person and enjoys going for long hikes. He really wants to be an outdoor adventure dog. Stax is not comfortable at big events with lots of people, commotion and noise. He prefers more private events or off-the-beaten-path adventures. Born in 2016, Stax is a true hound with his nose and sometimes with his voice. He loves to do nose work (a fun search and scenting sport) and agility. He is also learning basic training cues at the Sanctuary. He is currently living with a shy female with whom he loves to play and wrestle. Shy dogs are his favorite because he seems to do best with those who ignore him at first, then want to engage over time. He lived with a cat in a previous home and has passed cat test at Sanctuary, but he will chase outdoor cats and lizards.

Cordeliasouthern utah adoptable pets Cordelia

Cordelia can be a really sweet, silly girl. But people only see this side of her when she’s in her comfort zone beside her best dog buddy. He helps give her a lot of confidence, and she is more willing to try new things if he’s with her. Cordelia was born in 2012. She is really smart and excels at training – especially when food is involved. She’s become a rock star at agility at the Sanctuary. Because Cordelia is a very shy dog, she can be shutdown and extremely nervous when out of her comfort zone. She doesn’t like being touched by people and probably never will be comfortable with that. Cordelia would do best in a relaxed, structured home with a very patient person or family who understands her personality and accepts her for who she is. A home without many visitors would be best. When there are visitors, she would be most comfortable staying in a quiet room so she won’t be forced to socialize. She’ll also need a confident dog buddy who will be a good role model for her.

Marleysouthern utah adoptable pets Marley

Looking to add an active furry friend to your family? Marley may be just who you’re looking for! This young and energetic fella also has a sweet affectionate side. Marley is familiar with basic obedience commands like “sit, “paw” and “down,” has great recall and is wonderful on a leash. During times of high excitement like getting ready to go on walks, Marley has a hard time containing himself and will often jump, but staff has been working with Marley to help him refrain from doing this. Marley loves meeting and spending time with human friends and would prefer to be the only dog in a family. He’s very attentive to his people and aims to please. Once he’s comfortable with you, his silly side comes out and you’ll likely see him rolling on the ground, making silly faces and looking for belly rubs. At 4 years old, Marley likely has several active years ahead of him, so if you’re interested in a dog who you can include in some adventures, Marley may be the right fit! He’s also part of our *Single Pets program! That means Marley is eligible for a free flight home and waived the adoption fee! *Single pets do best as the only dog or cat in the home.

Mandolinesouthern utah adoptable pets Mandoline

Mandoline is very chatty, and she’ll want to have a conversation with you before she’ll let you pet her. She’ll do a flirty little dance in circles, then be friendly once she’s comfortable with you. She loves to play with string toys and does well with other cats as long as they’re nice to her. Born in 2014, she came from a shelter in California. Mandoline is a pretty girl who needs a home where she feels safe. She is the classic “Caturtle,” a shy cat who comes out of her shell when given a loving home.

Mileyhttps://bestfriends.org/adopt/adopt-our-sanctuary/9734967/miley

Miley is a beautiful girl with very distinct markings. She doesn’t know how beautiful she is, and she’s very shy with both people and other cats. Born in 2012, Miley came from a shelter in California. She won’t initiate interacting with you, but if you approach her slowly she’ll let you pet her. Quiet and scared, she will come out of her shell more quickly in a quiet home with not a lot of people or other animals.

Kruparsouthern utah adoptable pets Krupar

Ask Krupar and he will tell you there is nothing–NOTHING–he likes better than curling up in a nice lap and being showered with attention (and treats)! He can be a little shy at first, but that lasts only a moment before he decides that you’re one of his favorite people. He gets along with his cat roommates, and he loves to play with toys, preferably the interactive type! This sweet boy dreams of having a home of his own, with people who can give him all the love he wants.

Livysouthern utah adoptable pets Livy

Beautiful Livy is 8–9 years old and is the most loving girl ever. She is a gentle soul who takes her time / is a little on the slow-paced side and very friendly. She likes children and other dogs. Livy’s rabies vaccine is up to date and she will be receiving her distemper/parvovirus/bordetella inoculations shortly.

Bellasouthern utah adoptable pets Bella

Pretty Bella is a rock! She’s a big goofy girl who thinks she’s little. She came to BAM a smidge overweight and will need to shed a few pounds to be as healthy as she should be. It’s hard to tell what she’s mixed with–Labrador or Rottweiler maybe but she’s a whole lot of lover girl! If you need someone to walk with or toss a ball to or just rub a tummy while you binge watch tv, she’s always ready! She may look rough and tumble but she wants to be loved on just like all the other girls. Bella gets along with other dogs but gets possessive of her toys and doesn’t always want to share so she will need to be closely monitored with her playmates.

Pipersouthern utah adoptable pets Piper

Piper is a sweet senior girl who just wants to relax and be pampered. She is on medication for a previously untreated condition called Collie Nose and needs to be guarded from too much sun. She loves gentle kids and gets along with gentle dogs. She’s a lover girl that just needs someone to love her back.

Peppersouthern utah adoptable pets Pepper

Sweet Pepper is a beautiful chunk of love who will go belly up for a tummy rub any time of day — except dinner time, of course. Pepper’s short snout makes it more difficult for her to tolerate hot weather, especially while exercising. It is critically important to make sure she has enough shade and water. She needs to be monitored to make sure she is not struggling to breathe. In our shelter, Pepper is cage aggressive with some of the other dogs so she would need to meet any potential playmates before adoption.
