Swing

Do you love exuberant Labs? Then Swing would love to meet you! This smart, handsome boy is responding well to training and learning to control his high spirits. Swing loves playing with other dogs, even little ones. He also loves the ladies and greets most women with a wagging tail. But men can scare him, so he sometimes barks at them and prefers to take things slowly. Born in September 2012, he’s on a special diet because of minor allergies, but otherwise he’s healthy, happy and ready to audition for the part of your best buddy. Swing has a generous sponsor who will cover his adoption costs.

Wintersouthern utah adoptable pets Winter

Winter came from a shelter in Los Angeles, where she was feeling very intimidated. Luckily, she trekked out to Best Friends here in Kanab, Utah, where her real personality is peeking through. She can act shy at first, but once she gets to know you with treats and a walk, she’s warm and inviting.

Winter does a happy wiggle dance whenever she sees her friends. Winter loves people, and if you have other dogs, that would be wonderful. She’s great with them! Winter also loves her walks and loves to play in water.

All Winter wants is a forever home with someone to love. Winter has a generous sponsor who will cover her adoption fee.

Bunnysouthern utah adoptable pets Bunny

Bunny is a beautiful brindle girl with soulful eyes. At almost 10 years old, she is fairly active. Bunny loves to go on walks and outings. She is great on a leash! She loves to play with toys and is good with most dogs.

Bunny is sensitive and needs someone who is patient and willing to earn her trust. She would make a great companion for someone with a reliable routine. Once she is comfortable with you, she gets very happy and excited to see you. She loves getting pets from her friends! Since Bunny takes some time to make new friends, she does require adopters to come to the Sanctuary and meet her.

We would love for this sweet senior dog to find her forever home. Come and meet this wonderful girl, we know you will fall in love! She even has a generous sponsor who has covered her adoption fee!

Portiasouthern utah adoptable pets Portia

Lovely Portia arrived at Best Friends when her former person became too ill to care for her. Born in 2005, a warm spirit lurks beneath her protective exterior. Portia adores basking in the sun and is in good health.

Portia is still shy but is getting comfortable being around caregivers. She is very talkative when she knows it is treat time and will let you pet her. She would love a home of her own where she can live out her senior years with someone who will be patient with her and let her come around at her own pace. Once she knows she can trust you, and that you won’t give up on her, she will make the perfect couch buddy.

Freyasouthern utah adoptable pets Freya

Freya is completely at ease around others cats, though she’s a little shy with people. Born in 2012, she was rescued as a stray in Nevada. Although we can pet her, she doesn’t seem to enjoy it yet. But she’s a calm and peaceful girl, and she’ll gladly accept treats. Freya is a Caturtle, also known as a shy cat who comes out of their shell in a home.

Bruce

Bruce can often be found wandering the halls at Cat Headquarters greeting visitors and volunteers. He loves to hang out with people and is a sleepover favorite, always described as a sweet, cuddly lap cat.

Bruce is very social – he’s never met a person he didn’t like! He loves stroller rides, being brushed, and has a thing for catnip. While he loves people, Bruce isn’t all that crazy about other cats, so his ideal home would be with a person all his own. He arrived declawed and has no teeth.

If you are looking for a calm buddy to greet you at the end of each day, or a gentle friend who just wants to curl up next to you, Bruce is the one. He is a sweetheart – adopt him before someone else does!

Klaus is around 10 months old and is full of life! He loves playing with other dogs and he loves to cuddle, get pets, and give kisses. He’s a good listener and knows basic commands. In true puppy fashion, he has energy to spare and would love an active family that is looking for a great hiking or running companion! He would be good with children, other dogs, and cats.

Lottie

Lottie is 5 to 6 years old. She is a super sweet girl that’s been through so much! She loves to be pet and get attention but hasn’t had much of that in her life so she is very unsure of things. She loves going for walks and they really help to calm her nerves. She gets along great with other dogs and cats but can take some time to warm up to them initially. She is in the process of learning how to play and understanding doggy manners and is doing fantastic. She is really full of love to give. This sweet girl is looking for a loving, furever home to call her own.

This boy deserves a wonderful, furever home of his own.

Chirp

Chirp is the sweetest 14-year-old cat you will ever meet. Despite her years, she’s still playful and loves attention. Chirp can be quite chatty too. She has a wonderful disposition and deserves a loving home where she can live out the rest of her years. Will it be yours? Chirp is house-trained and would be good in a home with other cats or alone.

Arrow

Arrow is the sweetest boy. He was rescued with siblings Amora, Julliette, and Cupid(adopted). He had a very bad eye infection which led to the eye being removed. He is spunky and fun-loving. Will you be his bow? Arrow is house-trained and would be good in a home with other cats or alone.

Acesouthern utah adoptable pets ACE

Meet Ace. Ace is a happy, big old pup who has no idea he’s ever been injured, has recently had major surgery, and definitely doesn’t’ know that he’s supposed to have been calm and quiet while recuperating. His vet is amazed at just how well he has done so quickly!

Ace has a lot of energy and will need an active home. He would love to have a nice big yard to play in, along with regular and increasing exercise to strengthen his leg. In a few months, he’ll likely want to go on hikes and long walks. In the meantime, he loves affection and he loves to play! If he has toys and balls, he can entertain himself for long periods of time. He’d love you to throw the ball, but if you’re not available, he’s perfectly capable of throwing it for himself!! He needs to learn some manners but he is a bright boy and will learn quickly. He does tend to be toy possessive so some supervision will be needed with his doggy playmates.

Ace is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and ready to go to his forever home today!!! He will need an adopter with patience and one who is willing to care for him if his leg causes him issues in the future.

To find out more about Ace, meet him and see if he’s a match for you, text or call Julie at (435) 773-5209.

Barrysouther utah adoptable pets BARRY

Barry is not a lap dog (unless he decides he wants to be). Instead, he is a grumpy boy who came to us with a broken pelvis which still causes him pain. In the year he’s been with us, Barry also suffered seizures and kidney stones. He’s on a special diet and medication for all of these things, but he’s still a grump. And we all still love him!

Since being in our care, the poor guy has had to deal with puppies and big dogs who don’t understand why he doesn’t want to roughhouse. He does get along with dogs who aren’t in his face and likes to fetch a ball as long as you don’t try to take it back from him (Barry’s rules). Ornery as he is, Barry is kind of our mascot and we want the old guy to catch a break and live out the remainder of his life with someone he can find solace in.

Barry loves to rub his back on the floor and wiggle and loves to have belly rubs by a person of his choosing. He enjoys certain members of our team while others simply aren’t his cup of tea

To find out more about Barry, meet him and see if he’s a match for you, text, or call Julie at (435) 773-5209.

Aayla

Sweetheart Aayla is a six-year-old bulldog mix who loves being with people, riding in the car, going on walks, and being the center of attention. She is housebroken and kennel trained, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccinations.

Aayla has been an only dog and may do best in a home without other pets. Then again, she may be fine with other animals. In any case, she should be introduced to any potential siblings prior to adoption.

If you would like to meet this delightful girl, submit a BAM Adoption Application and, if approved, we’ll contact you within 7 days to arrange a meeting.

Mikko

Mikko” (pronounced Mick O), Hebrew for God, is a lovely gentleman who enjoys short walks and hanging out with other dogs, especially little ones. He’s an absolute lover boy and bonds quickly with everyone

Mikko will be having a mass removed from his leg soon and will be available for adoption once it’s done. He’s neutered, microchipped, housebroken, up-to-date on his vaccinations and ready to move to his new forever home.

If you’re interested in Mikko, submit a BAM Adoption Application and, if approved, we’ll contact you as soon as possible to arrange a meeting. If you don’t hear back within 7 days, please text us at (435) 773-5209.

Titan and Keeva

Meet this bonded pair: Titan (95 lb Male, 6 yrs) and Keeva (60 lb Female, 5 yrs). Keeva was 8 wks old when she met her big brother and they are tightly bonded. They were their mom and dad’s only children and did everything together: mountain camping, hiking, car rides, playing in streams, strolling the neighborhood. They are primarily house pets but obviously love being active in the outdoors and using their doggy door to explore the yard.

The family has now expanded with an infant and a toddler. Managing two full-time jobs and the babies has added stress and put a strain on the time and care mom and dad can spend with them. The dogs feel the difference and are longing for their pre-baby life back. Mom and Dad’s hearts are broken but feel it is only fair to find the perfect, active family for these two to get their show back on the road.

With the proper introduction, they are good with children and all animals, including cats. If children, 10 or older would be preferable so these dogs can get the attention they need. Huskies need to be part of the pack. They are not happy to be an outdoor pet that is not part of the family. With a little daily exercise and a home of their own, they make absolutely wonderful pets.

To learn more, please call Debbie at 858-531-8919. PLEASE, DO NOT CONTACT BECAUSE ANIMALS MATTER – THIS IS A COURTESY LISTING ONLY – THANK YOU
