Rogersouthern utah adoptable pets Roger

Looking for a dog who:
1. Loves other dogs and can match any playstyle or energy level?
2. Is affectionate, cuddles, and gives kisses?
3. Is house trained and knows basic cues and tricks?
4. Walks nicely on a leash?
5. Has the energy to hike and play, but is also a couch potato?

ROGER THAT! We have a dog who fits the bill: Roger!

Roger would thrive in a quiet, calm home with routine and predictability. One of our behavior specialists, Janelle, says “If I could take home a third dog – Roger would be mine.”

Talent

Meet Talent! He’s a young boy who came to the sanctuary in Kanab, UT from a shelter in Arizona. He was originally found with a broken back leg. He had surgery on 9/29 to repair the leg and is looking for a foster/adoptive home to recover while he is on crate rest for the next 6-8 weeks. He is very friendly with people and did well meeting a 6 pound Chihuahua puppy.

Cranberry

Cranberry is a sweet, very shy, curious girl who is just learning to trust people. She finds a great deal of comfort in other dogs. She bonds to them and follows their lead.

Cranberry would do best in a home with another dog that can help her continue to build her confidence and trust with people and new experiences. She needs a role model and companion to help show her the way.

Cranberry will take time and patience. She is not yet walking on lead or riding in cars. She is still very fearful but she is learning and looking for a home that will help her feel safe and loved.

Irisa

Irisa is an inquisitive, playful girl. She has blossomed a great deal and has come out of her shell. She is a lot more confident and will now accept pets, especially if there are treats involved! Once she feels safe and secure in a home, her adorable personality will surely start to shine. Irisa loves other cats, and she would be happiest living with another feline. She will be a delightful addition to the family!

Oberon

This sweet, social boy is fabulous. Oberon likes other cats, is cuddly and gentle, and loves to play. He is positive for FeLV, a virus that can impact a cat’s overall health. He will need to be the only cat in your home or live with other FeLV-positive cats. Don’t let the diagnosis push you away; come meet Oberon today!

Kangaroo Jack

Kangaroo Jack is a handsome guy who knows what he likes. He loves to play and enjoys attention from people. He would do best in a home as an only cat, or with a couple of trusted feline friends. He needs a patient and understanding human to help him with his needs, but he’ll gladly return the favor with affection and daily doses of joy!

Archie

Archie is a young red heeler/cattle dog. He is very loving and playful and enjoys playing with other dogs and people. He’s a good walker and will need someone to patiently train him. Archie needs an active family as his breed is one that needs play and exercise.

Cricket

Cricket suffered injuries after getting tangled in some kind of fence. His owners surrendered him as they could not provide the necessary care. He’s healed nicely and is anxious to be back in a home. Cricket appears to be housebroken as his kennel is clean between volunteer shifts. He’s playful, energetic, and sweet as can be. He does well with basic commands and walking on a leash but will need additional training. Cricket would love a family who will play with him and take him on hikes. This breed, Border Collie & Australian Shepherd mix, likes to be active.  Cricket is house-trained and would be good in a home with other dogs or alone.

Sammy

Sammy is a 1 ½-year-old Pit Bull Terrier and Labrador Retriever mix. She is very sweet and playful. Sammy will need some training. She is eager to please. She is hoping an adventurous family adopts her.  Could that be your family?

Bran

Bran is an independent happy go lucky cat. He gets along with the other cats but is somewhat solitary. He enjoys playing with toys and basking in the sun. He’s an active member of the RSQ bird-watching club. Bran loves can food and while impatiently waiting for his bowl steals food from another cat’s bowl by using his paw like a spoon.  Bran is house-trained and would be good in a home with other cats or alone.

Aries

We got Aries as a kitten with his brother Leo and now he’s full grown. Aries is an independent cat who also can be mischievous. He is confident and passionate. When he loves a human, he gives all his heart., which is probably why his favorite color is red. Ask volunteer Bryn about that! He would love to be king of the household and be the only cat.

Jon

Jon is a loving cat. He is talkative especially when he knows it’s can food time. He gets along with other cats and this tuxedo cat is always dressed for a night out on the town. Come meet this dapper of a cat!  Jon would be good in a home with other cats or alone.

Coco

Tiny Coco is such a little miracle girl and she’s sweet as her name suggests … like an itty bitty chocolate kiss! She is very smart, loves to snuggle, and really enjoys a good tummy tickle. She’s playful, gets along with other respectful dogs, and, for some reason, adores car rides. Also, Coco doesn’t seem to mind being dressed up like a baby doll. She’s perfect!

When she came to BAM at the beginning of July, Coco was malnourished with rotten teeth. She had little hair, had dry skin, and had a very scary lump on her chest. We couldn’t believe she survived the night but this girl is a fighter! Since then, she’s had her lump removed and a dental, her skin is clear and she has the softest coat. She’s doing great now!

Even though Coco still suffers from issues due to past neglect (blind due to cataracts with dry eyes and diabetic requiring daily insulin injections), nothing slows her down! She has a good appetite, good hearing, and has a great nose! She always knows when her friends come to visit.

If you’re interested in Coco and can commit to fulfilling her medical needs, (giving injections isn’t as scary as it sounds), submit a BAM Adoption Application, and, if approved, we’ll contact you as soon as possible to arrange a meeting. If you don’t hear back within 7 days, please text us at 435-773-5209.

Roxy

Roxy needs a playmate!  This girl is so affectionate, full of life, and smart, smart, smart!!! She wants nothing more than get outside and play ball, tug, you name it–she just wants to play!

Unfortunately, life changes didn’t allow pretty Roxy to stay with her family and she has to be re-homed. She’s a wonderful girl (did we mention that she’s smart?) who needs someone with an active lifestyle and time to help develop her mind. She would probably be a great agility dog, frisbee fetcher, and/or running/hiking partner. And once she’s worn you out, she’ll snuggle up to you on the couch for cuddles and cookies. (Exercise and cookies- you can’t lose!) And can you imagine gazing into those gorgeous eyes every day?

Sherlock and Koko

Sherlock and Koko are adorable, young, energetic little (7 pounds) packages of love!
We think they’ll be least traumatized if adopted together!

Sherlock is a cuddle bug and the less adventurous of the 2 dogs. He’ll follow you everywhere but also loves to play with toys and, especially, with his favorite playmate, Koko (although, as with his foster, both dogs will accept other littles into their playgroup). Sherlock and Koko love mealtime, chews, and treats and are fast eaters (so a slow feeder or separate feeding area may be needed). Both pups are very comfortable in their crate (will frequently go into it voluntarily just to chill) and can be crated together for short periods. Sherlock and Koko are good walkers and ride well in a car. Both dogs are housebroken but Sherlock does mark, a behavior which should disappear over time since he is now neutered. Sherlock and Koko are good with other small dogs and cats but large dogs or small children are not recommended.

Mikko

Mikko” (pronounced Mick O), Hebrew for God, is a lovely gentleman who enjoys short walks and hanging out with other dogs, especially little ones. He’s an absolute lover boy and bonds quickly with everyone

Mikko will be having a mass removed from his leg soon and will be available for adoption once it’s done. He’s neutered, microchipped, housebroken, up-to-date on his vaccinations, and ready to move to his new forever home.

Barrysouther utah adoptable pets BARRY

Barry is not a lap dog (unless he decides he wants to be). Instead, he is a grumpy boy who came to us with a broken pelvis which still causes him pain. In the year he’s been with us, Barry also suffered seizures and kidney stones. He’s on a special diet and medication for all of these things, but he’s still a grump. And we all still love him!

Since being in our care, the poor guy has had to deal with puppies and big dogs who don’t understand why he doesn’t want to roughhouse. He does get along with dogs who aren’t in his face and likes to fetch a ball as long as you don’t try to take it back from him (Barry’s rules).

Ornery as he is, Barry is kind of our mascot and we want the old guy to catch a break and live out the remainder of his life with someone he can find solace in.

Barry loves to rub his back on the floor and wiggle and loves to have belly rubs by a person of his choosing. He enjoys certain members of our team while others simply aren’t his cup of tea.

Tango

Tango is a one-year-old purebred Miniature Pinscher. He’s a little shy until he gets to know you but then is very friendly, cuddly, and playful. He’ll even sleep with you! He loves other dogs, was raised with a large boxer, and is comfortable with the 3 big dogs at his foster parent’s house. He’s even cat-friendly! He walks well and enjoys car rides.

Tango is vaccinated, neutered, and housebroken. He’s a bit overweight and will benefit from being kept on a healthy regimen of exercise and appropriate food.

Stella

For pitties sake! Really–no interest in this beautiful girl? How can that be? Stella is a wonderful, kind girl looking for love. At five to six years, she had very likely never experienced it before coming to BAM and every day she shows us her gratitude and affection. She’s finally figured out that people want to love her…and we all do! Stella e is so ready to start a new chapter in her life now with nothing but love in store.

Stella was so gentle when she played with her puppies but now they’ve all gone to their forever homes leaving her alone and lonely. She really wants someone to hold her close and play tug with her.

Gentle as she is, she had occasionally acted very protective of her puppies when other dogs or kids were nearby. For that reason, she may do best as a solo dog with no kids (or maybe ok with older, respectful kids), and, we assume, no cats.
