Woody

This Hurricane Harvey survivor is always extremely wiggly and happy. Woody enjoys attention and cuddling with his friends once he has time to bond with them. He loves to play with toys and enjoys learning new tricks through training. Swimming in the pool is his favorite summertime activity and in winter he loves romping through the snow.
He has done well with dogs the same size or bigger than him at Dogtown, though he takes a bit to warm up to new dogs. He does require someone with dog experience because he can guard his food and toys at times. He would love to meet any potential new dog housemates at the Sanctuary.

Raquelsouthern utah adoptable pets Raquel

If you’re looking for a fun, smart, active dog, look no further than Raquel! She has lots of energy and loves to play, both with people and on her own – her snake toy is her absolute favorite! She loves to sunbathe, and can usually be found soaking in the rays atop her dog house on sunny days.

Intelligent and eager to learn, Raquel excels at any type of training she sets her mind to, and once you are her friend then you’re a friend for life.
As part of our “Single & Loving It” adoption special, Raquel qualifies for a waived adoption fee! “Single & Loving It” pets do best as the only dog in their new home.

Elwoodsouthern utah adoptable pets Elwood

Elwood is a big lug of a dog who enjoys the finer things life has to offer: snacks, walks, cuddles, snacks, toys, and snacks! He is very intelligent and knows so many tricks including sit, down, shake, spin, wait, and agility! Elwood has been in the shelter system since he was a pup and has grown into a wonderful adult dog but sometimes new people, loud noises, and small spaces scare Elwood. It may seem like he knows it all but Elwood still needs to learn about the world outside of the sanctuary and would need patient people to show him what else life has to offer.

Naomisouthern utah adoptable pets Naomi

This petite, laid-back girl just wants a patient adopter who will give her plenty of time to open up and adjust to her new home. Naomi is sweet and sensitive, and she’ll make a great companion for anyone who enjoys focusing on the quiet moments in life. She will enrich your life without asking for much in return.

Spatzsouthern utah adoptable pets Spatz

Spatz came to Best Friends from an overcrowded situation in New Mexico. He is shy around some cats (except his brother, Crosby, and his bestie, Maisie) and humans. However, Spatz (born in 2008) is curious and is coming around slowly. He will sniff his caregivers’ hands and accept yummy treats. It seems likely that he will come out of his shell more and more with time. If given that time, he will make a great companion.

If you think Spatz would be a good fit for your family or if you would like to learn more, click Adopt Spatz above to complete our survey and be connected with an Adoption Specialist.

Sushi

Sushi wants to come near you, but if you move she runs in the opposite direction. She’s super shy and nervous, but very sweet. And you can entice her with food and treats. She keeps to herself for the most part. Sushi tested positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLV ), so she’ll need to be an only cat or live with other FeLV kitties. Born around 2013, Sushi was abandoned. We believe that she has the potential to be a very lovable cat. She really wants to trust people, but needs someone with lots of love and patience.

Brody

Brody is a 1-year-old German Shepherd mix. He was adopted from us as a puppy and just returned as he no longer fits the previous adopter’s lifestyle. He is family-oriented, loves to run and play, is house trained, and uses a dog door. He’s very responsive to commands. Brody is good indoors or in a fenced backyard. He does have initial shyness with new dogs but warms up quickly. He actually prefers being around a smaller dog as he was raised with a chihuahua since he was a puppy. Brody is currently in a foster home and can’t wait to find his forever home with an active and loyal family.

Dexter

We have puppies! Dexter is one of 9 puppies just rescued. He is playful, adorable, cuddly, and can’t wait to be in a loving home. Dexter will need training as he is just 6 weeks old. He is currently being vetted but we are accepting adoption applications to get pre-approved.

Jon

Jon is a loving cat. He is talkative especially when he knows it’s can food time. He gets along with other cats and this tuxedo cat is always dressed for a night out on the town. Come meet this dapper of a cat!  Jon would be good in a home with other cats or alone.

Bran

Bran is an independent happy go lucky cat. He gets along with the other cats but is somewhat solitary. He enjoys playing with toys and basking in the sun. He’s an active member of the RSQ bird-watching club. Bran loves can food and while impatiently waiting for his bowl steals food from another cat’s bowl by using his paw like a spoon.  Bran is house-trained and would be good in a home with other cats or alone.

Aries

We got Aries as a kitten with his brother Leo and now he’s full grown. Aries is an independent cat who also can be mischievous. He is confident and passionate. When he loves a human, he gives all his heart., which is probably why his favorite color is red. Ask volunteer Bryn about that! He would love to be king of the household and be the only cat. His spirit animal is a cheetah and like the cheetah he can be full of energy. He’s an avid member of the RSQ bird-watching club. If you’re an Aries, you would be most compatible. However, the soulmate for an Aries is a Leo, Gemini, or Sagittarius. Do you have the sign for Aries? And Aries is house-trained.

Littermates Chewy, Curry, Zuma

Chewy is a little fluffball. He’s very social and loves to play with everyone.

Spicy baby Curry is a total character and will keep you on your toes with his silliness. He and his littermates are happy, frisky and well socialized.

Puffy Zuma plays well with the other puppies and loves to go upside down for a tummy rub!

Chewy, Curry, and Zuma are available LOCALLY ONLY as foster to adopt. Once spayed/neutered, the adoption can be finalized and their adorableness will be all yours forever and ever!

Barrysouther utah adoptable pets BARRY

Barry is not a lap dog (unless he decides he wants to be). Instead, he is a grumpy boy who came to us with a broken pelvis which still causes him pain. In the year he’s been with us, Barry also suffered seizures and kidney stones. He’s on a special diet and medication for all of these things, but he’s still a grump. And we all still love him!

Since being in our care, the poor guy has had to deal with puppies and big dogs who don’t understand why he doesn’t want to roughhouse. He does get along with dogs who aren’t in his face and likes to fetch a ball as long as you don’t try to take it back from him (Barry’s rules).

Ornery as he is, Barry is kind of our mascot and we want the old guy to catch a break and live out the remainder of his life with someone he can find solace in.

Barry loves to rub his back on the floor and wiggle and loves to have belly rubs by a person of his choosing. He enjoys certain members of our team while others simply aren’t his cup of tea.

Dottie

Dottie is such a sweet girl! She’s smart, house trained, knows the doggy door, playful, loves toys (especially the squeaky kind), is good with other dogs, and loves people, especially the petting part! Dottie is a calm pup and a great walker! And even though her foster has a whole lot of other hungry pups wanting treats, Dottie waits patiently until it’s her turn to get one.

Dottie is available as foster to adopt until she has been spayed. Then the adoption can be finalized and she will be all yours forever and ever!

Quincy

Tiny Quincy is four to five years old and sweet as can be. He was a bit underweight when he came to BAM but is now up to a whopping 6 pounds!!! He loves his treats, his people but most of all his toys: Quincy plays fetch with a small ball or squeaky toy. He is crate trained but is happiest being with his person. He is comfortable with other dogs (and cats) and plays well with dogs his own size.

Quincy is available LOCALLY ONLY as foster to adopt. Once he gets his dental and is neutered, the adoption will be completed and he’ll be all yours!

Roxy

Roxy needs a playmate!  This girl is so affectionate, full of life, and smart, smart, smart!!! She wants nothing more than get outside and play ball, tug, you name it–she just wants to play!

Unfortunately, life changes didn’t allow pretty Roxy to stay with her family and she has to be re-homed. She’s a wonderful girl (did we mention that she’s smart?) who needs someone with an active lifestyle and time to help develop her mind. She would probably be a great agility dog, frisbee fetcher, and/or running/hiking partner. And once she’s worn you out, she’ll snuggle up to you on the couch for cuddles and cookies. (Exercise and cookies- you can’t lose!) And can you imagine gazing into those gorgeous eyes every day?

Mikko

Mikko” (pronounced Mick O), Hebrew for God, is a lovely gentleman who enjoys short walks and hanging out with other dogs, especially little ones. He’s an absolute lover boy and bonds quickly with everyone

Mikko will be having a mass removed from his leg soon and will be available for adoption once it’s done. He’s neutered, microchipped, housebroken, up-to-date on his vaccinations, and ready to move to his new forever home.
