St. George’s Winter Concert Series To Showcase Chris Anderson

St. GEORGE— The City of St. George’s free Concert in the Park series was so popular that a new idea emerged: arrange more live music for the residents of the City. The result is the Winter Concert Series, a festive celebration of music that brings community members of all ages together once a month from October through January.

The first such concert was on Oct. 24 at the Electric Theater (68 East Tabernacle Street) as Mountaintop Sound, a Utah-based band that blends a mix of Americana, folk, and bluegrass sounds, delighted the audience. All Winter Concert Series events are free to attend, but seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited to the capacity of the building (300).

Performances are at 7 PM, and doors open 20 minutes prior to each performance.

“We listened to our residents’ desire for more live music — and we hope this first step in meeting those wishes will be well received,” said Jeremy Poston, Technical Theater Coordinator for the City of St. George. “We love to give back to our residents and help them feel a sense of community through a greater variety of entertainment.”

Two concerts are remaining.

Dec. 13: Chris Anderson (Crooner Christmas)
Jan. 16: Legends of Rock (Classic Rock)

Chris Anderson had music running through his veins his entire life but didn’t realize it until the age of 18. Once he discovered his gift, Chris’s otherwise ordinary life took a completely different, unexpected path. After hearing Chris sing for the first time, his uncle Jeff Anderson, a professional clarinetist, gave him his very first live performing opportunities as the lead singer of his former band, The Blue Notes.
