Stage Door Presents Follow The Yellow Brick Road

June 29 – July 8, 2023

Follow The Yellow Brick Road in this delightful adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s classic story, featuring the iconic musical score! Come along as Dorothy and her little dog Toto are transported somewhere “over the rainbow.”

The Stage Door flagship mentorship program, first created last year, cultivates young actors and offers them the chance to work with professional performers. This permits families to perform together, often a rare opportunity. Audiences have the chance to see two casts. The main cast features age-appropriate lead roles, while their doubles are junior counterparts 18 and under featured in the jr. cast.

Our junior cast will perform on July 1 & 8 at 2:00 PM and July 5 at 7:30 PM. Otherwise you can see them in the main cast ensemble. Together they work on elements of the performance, like character development, actor choices, etc.

Powerhouse Liv Williams is Dorothy Gale. (Jr. Double: Melanie Peterson). Beloved local veteran Joel Thomas (Jr. Double: Owen Scott) will comedically stumble back to the stage as Scarecrow. The versatile Michael Iorg (Jr. Double: Ammon Bott) will clamor onstage Tin Man. The accomplished BJ Cox (Jr. Double: Thomas Murray) rounds out this dynamic trio with his euphonious vocals. These three dads will share the stage with each of their daughters. The graceful Megan Williams (Jr. Double: Lizzy Peterson) takes on the compassionate Glinda the Good Witch. At the same time, Rosa Lee White (Jr. Double: Lauren Gardner) provides a captivating take as her sister, the Wicked Witch. Together these alluring actresses have multiple children in the show as munchkins. Amongst the cast of 47, you will see entire families, parents, children, and siblings; this truly is a family show!

Director Brianna Rosia, who has been involved in Southern Utah theater for the last 17 years, can’t wait to bring this heartwarming story to life! Music direction is led by the gifted Amy Gleave, and choreography by the imaginative Christine France.

Wizard of Oz runs June 29 – July 8. Shows will run Thursday – Saturday and then Monday – Saturday at 7:30 PM, with matinees on July 1st and 8th at 2:00 PM. There will be no show on July 4.

Tickets are $23 for adults and $15 for children and can be purchased online at stagedoorutah.com or by calling the box office at 435-656-4407. All performances will be held at the Electric Theater at 68 E Tabernacle, St. George, UT 84770.
