Summer is in full swing, and Ivins City Parks and Recreation has a packed schedule of events to keep everyone entertained. Whether you are looking to cool off from the desert heat, take a cultural day trip, or enjoy a family movie under the stars, there is something for every age and interest.
Teens can beat the heat at the Teen Summer Water Bash on Wednesday, July 8, from 5 PM to 8 PM at Ivins Heritage Park. This free event is set to be a blast with an inflatable water slide, a dunk tank, and a foam machine from local Ivins company Foam Encounter. There will also be music and food available for purchase from local favorites like Corndog Co and Pure Joy Shave Ice.

For those looking to hit the road, the city is hosting a day trip to the Utah Shakespeare Festival on Wednesday, July 15. Participants will meet at Ivins City Hall at 8 AM for a luxury shuttle ride to Cedar City. The $100 registration fee includes a backstage tour and a matinee ticket to the musical “Something Rotten!” along with snacks and water for the ride. You can register today at the Ivins City website or in person at City Hall.
As August arrives, Friday evenings at Heritage Park transform into a free outdoor movie theater. The films begin at approximately 8:30 PM, or as soon as it is dark enough to see the screen. This year’s family-friendly lineup includes Matilda on August 7, Cars on August 14, Lego Batman on August 21, and Zootopia 2 on August 28.

Finally, mark your calendars for Ivins City Heritage Days, running from September 9 to September 12. With the theme “Celebrate Freedom’s Journey and America 250,” the week is full of community spirit, including a free swim night at SHAC, service projects, a car show, cowboy poetry, and a Saturday parade. It is a wonderful way to celebrate the history and future of our community together.
