The SUU Backyard Bash will be held on Oct. 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. as part of the Outdoor Nation Campus Challenge. This free event will be held outside at President Scott L. Wyatt’s house located at 302 S. 1100 W. in Cedar City. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. There will be live music, food, and outdoor games. There’s something for the whole family to enjoy, including volleyball, ultimate Frisbee, tug-a-war, hammocks, and even a tent city.
The Backyard Bash is the culminating event for the Outdoor Nation Campus Challenge—a Mother-Nature-meets-March-Madness-style competition wherein 56 schools compete for the title of “Most Outdoorsy School in the Nation.” Southern Utah University has been participating in the Outdoor Nation Campus Challenge for the past six weeks. So far, SUU is in first place, but Wyatt wants to seal the victory by hosting this outdoor party. The goal is to reach 20,000 points on that night. Creating an Outdoor Nation account is free and easy to do. For more information, visit oncampuschallenge.org.
