The News Cycle

The news cycle is a term we hear a lot. It evokes an exciting rush of 24/7 news-on-demand and arouses many stressful feelings and often leads to information overload. For some, it also summons memories of simpler times, when the news cycle consisted of perusing the paper over breakfast, catching a mid-day radio update, or tuning in to the nightly news before turning in.

However, today things are much different and it’s very difficult, for some, to keep up with which has led to many in our nation to turn the news off and tune it out.

We hope to change that here at The Independent and bring you news, stories, and commentary that will help our readers feel connected and heard. With that being said, we hope you will continue to read, support, and engage in the conversations that are often started, introduced, or sustained here.
