Tilted Mesa Packs Debut Show

And they will perform in Springdale twice for St. Patrick’s Day!

On February 17, the new southern Utah band Tilted Mesa debuted at Adria’s Restaurant in Kanab, Utah, to a sell-out crowd. The band performed for nearly two hours a selection of songs one audience member described as “the best setlist ever!” Drawing from the last six decades of music Tilted Mesa rocked classics such as “Gimme Some Lovin’” and “Something’s Got a Hold On Me” mixed with a few more obscure but noteworthy songs such as “Colors” from the band The Black Pumas and “Desert Song” by the California-based group The Mother Hips, who have themselves performed in southern Utah numerous times.

“We wanted to pick a few tunes that connected us to our area, so Desert Song was a natural choice, plus we just love the Mother Hips! We also do “Take Me To The River” which seems appropriate for our landscape and region.” Said guitarist/singer Josh Warburton, who is the publisher of The Independent.

The band also played a few original tunes, and their debut seemed to really impress the crowd, with many people cheering and commenting to the band afterward about how much they liked it and how good it sounded.

“It just seems like the stars aligned for us that night with a packed house, our sound system working without a hitch, and no train wrecks to speak of. You can’t always count on any of that.” Said, Warburton.

Tilted Mesa will perform next at the legendary Bit and Spur Restaurant in Springdale on St. Paddy’s Day Friday, March 17 at 6 pm, and then the following day as part of Springdale’s St. Paddy’s Day celebrations behind the Bumbleberry Theater at around 3 pm.

“We are super stoked to be able to perform at the Bit, and on St. Paddy’s Day nonetheless! They’ve built this beautiful back area with a stage and a taco truck, it should be a really fun show. And then to play the next day also in Springdale is a treat.”

The band will also perform at Blues Katz in St. George on April 29 and Best Friends Roadhouse on May 6.

Tilted Mesa is made up of Warburton, Jessi Cotton on vocals, Josh Baird on keys and vocals, Matt Stewart on bass and vocals, and Jake Hartner on Drums. With the success of their first show the band is looking to bring their classic style and energetic showmanship to an expanding audience at future shows and they are available for parties and events.
