American common sense

I recently read a quote by an unknown author who stated, “Common sense is a flower that doesn’t grow in everyone’s garden.” The more I read the news and hear about things going on in our country today, the more I believe this quote is true. As a tribute to those who are in need of more flowers of common sense, here are some issues that I believe need to be addressed.

If you believe that you should have to present a valid ID that proves you are a citizen of the U.S. in order to get a job but shouldn’t have to show one in order to vote, you may have no common sense.

If you believe that a person should have to get a drug test to obtain and keep a job but should not have to get a drug test to obtain and stay on welfare, you may have no common sense.

If you believe that a person who kills a pregnant woman should be charged with a double homicide but also believe it’s okay to abort a baby and sell its body parts for money, you may have no common sense.

If you think that a transsexual teenage boy who is still anatomically a boy should have the right to use the girls’ locker room and bathroom in a high school, superseding the privacy rights of every girl in that school, you may have no common sense.

If you believe that it’s okay to spend an estimated $250,000 in taxpayer dollars to build a separate prayer room for Muslims in an airport that already has an interfaith prayer room for all faiths but that it’s wrong for other faiths to have their own individual prayer rooms, you may have no common sense.

If you have no problem with the former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton using her private server to receive and send out top secret documents, claiming she had no idea they were classified, but yet still think she is qualified to be the next President of the United States, you may have no common sense.

If you believe that it’s okay for our government to make a nuclear deal with Iran—who hates America, Israel, and every other westernized country—giving it not only $100 billion in aid over the next year but also lifting sanctions on their ability to enrich nuclear fuel, (see lead image face-palm) you may have no common sense!

If you agree with Secretary of State John Kerry that this same nuclear deal is a great arrangement, even though he admitted that he never even read all parts of this deal, also knowing that Iran is the same country that took 60 Americans hostage for two years back in 1979, you may have no common sense.

If you believe that it’s okay to say “Black Lives Matter” but think that saying “All Lives Matter” is racist, you may have no common sense.

If you believe that it’s okay for the American government to put us into a debt of $18.2 trillion and give billions to other countries yet keep the federal minimum wage at $7.25 an hour, you may have no common sense!

If you believe that it’s your right as an American citizen to have absolutely no flowers of common sense at all, you are right. Unfortunately for our country, many of our nation’s leaders share that same empty garden. Here’s to having more flowers grow!
