Utah State University Extension’s Utah Master Naturalist Program provides nature lovers an opportunity to attend educational field courses this summer beginning June 12 and running through Sept. 29. Focusing on watershed, desert, and mountain ecosystems, courses are available across Utah, from Salt Lake City and Park City in the north to Moab in the south. Participants will explore such places as Antelope Island and Dead Horse Point State Parks or spend a weekend at Great Basin National Park.
According to Mark Larese-Casanova, Utah Master Naturalist program director, those attending will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and knowledge about nature while touring some of the most beautiful places in Utah.
“I see so many participants develop a deep connection to nature or a place, from the wetlands of the Swaner Preserve to the deserts of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, during a Utah Master Naturalist field course,” he said. “We search for the secrets of nature and make connections we maybe have never noticed before.”
