Utah Tech University’s Atwood Innovation Plaza is inviting entrepreneurs, inventors, and creative thinkers to gather for a day of inspiration and opportunity at From Vision to Venture: Innovating in Southern Utah.
The free conference, hosted in partnership with the Nucleus Institute, takes place Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 9 AM inside Atwood Innovation Plaza on the Utah Tech campus. It’s designed to help innovators take their ideas from concept to market while fostering entrepreneurship and regional economic growth.
“We are excited to bring together entrepreneurs to connect with experts, access resources, and explore commercialization opportunities in Southern Utah,” said Wyatt Anderson, Utah Tech Business Development Manager. “This event will offer practical guidance on protecting intellectual property, introduce steps for bringing innovations to market, and offer pathways for Utah Tech research to reach commercialization through regional and national entrepreneurs.”
Conference presenter Molly Kocialski, former regional director of the Rocky Mountain United States Patent & Trademark Office and current counsel at Holland & Hart, will share insights on protecting ideas and accessing intellectual property resources.
The day will also feature an expert panel and a pitch competition hosted by Josh Aikens of Zonos and Scale STG. Presented by the Nucleus Institute, the competition will spotlight groundbreaking work in deep-tech, technology transfer, and innovation emerging from Southern Utah.
Those interested in pitching an idea or business can register by Oct. 15 to join the Nucleus Institute Pitch Event.
The conference is presented in collaboration with Utah Tech’s NSF-funded Tech Transfer Office, Atwood Innovation Plaza, Scale STG, and the State of Utah’s Nucleus Institute.
