Arrowhead Gallery ETC features Victoria Denning in February

Arrowhead Gallery ETC’s featured artist for February is Victoria Denning. A reception will be held Feb. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at 68 E. Tabernacle St. in St. George.

Denning enjoys painting landscapes and figures from memories of childhood and her modern reality through a lens of graphic stylization and patterns. She was born and raised in Layton where her love of art began as she marveled at the paintings hung from floor to ceiling in her grandmother’s art studio. This fueled her passion for lying on the kitchen floor, coloring pictures and storytelling for her mother. She says the world around her was wrapped in imagination. She went on to study art at Utah State University and Brigham Young University where she graduated with bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in drawing and painting. Her work can be found in galleries and exhibits throughout Utah. She now replaces lying on the kitchen floor with working in a studio. She enjoys the quiet introspect and problem solving involved in creating and resolving a piece of art. She says that while documenting and creating what is uniquely important to her, she walks a path of self-discovery every day.
