On March 19, Brian Head Resort will host the Georg Hartlmaier Classic, a community-wide ski race open to skiers of all ages and abilities. Each racer takes two timed runs anytime during the race period. The ski race will be scored on the NASTAR scoring system.
The ski race features novice, intermediate, and open classes. Ski, snowboard, telemark and special divisions all earn awards. Platinum, gold, silver, and bronze medals and race ribbons will be awarded in all categories. All racers receive awards. Overall fastest male and female combined time racers will have their names engraved on the Georg A. Hartlmaier Cup. Registration is $5, and a lift pass is required for participation.
Schedule of events
9–11 a.m.: Registration at Last Chair Saloon at Giant Steps Lodge
11–11:30 a.m.: Course inspection
11:30 a.m.–3 p.m.: Georg A. Hartlmaier Classic Race
5–9 p.m.: John’s KC Style BBQ dinner and live music at Last Chair Saloon
6 p.m.: Awards and party at Last Chair Saloon
