Cedar City Women In Business Maria Twitchell

The Cedar City Women in Business—a division of the Cedar City Area Chamber of Commerce—is pleased to announce their July luncheon speaker and sponsor will be Maria Twitchell, Executive Director of the Cedar City-Brian Head Tourism Bureau. Twitchell’s talk will be entitled, “Why Visitors Matter to Your Business and the Community.” The July luncheon will take place from noon to 1 p.m. at the new Stone Haven Special Events Center located at 647 S. Cross Hollow Rd. in Cedar City.

Twitchell was born and raised in Cedar City  and attended Southern Utah University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications and marketing. Following graduation, she accepted a position with Iron County and served in various marketing positions for the county tourism office. She was promoted to Executive Director of the Cedar City –Brian Head Tourism Bureau in 2005.

Twitchell serves on many local and state boards, including the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce Board of Governors, Utah Summer Games Board of Commissioners, Iron County Restaurant Tax Board, Zions Bank Community Partners, and Utah Tourism Industry Coalition.  She combines her love of hiking, skiing, canyoneering, food and photography with her career and is often quoted saying, “Living the Dream!”

Tickets for the Cedar City Women in Business luncheon can be purchased at the door for $14; however, the discounted cost for the luncheons is $12.00 when you preregister using the Chamber of Commerce Website event page, http://www.cedarcitychamber.org/events/Women-in-Business-July-Luncheon-276/details.

Bring a friend and come out for the delicious food and informative discussions. Don’t forget your business card to be entered into the drawing for door prizes.

The Cedar City Women in Business group is also looking for sponsors to help fund future luncheons. Sponsors get direct contact to fellow women and free publicity for the event for only $50. If you sell products, you can even set up a table in the room and sell that day!
