The Independent

Get ready for the final show of the season at the Ledges Fish Rock Grille next Friday and Saturday, June 12 and 13, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Presented by The David Jorgensen Project, “Norwegian Wood” is a very special tribute to the Beatles, featuring some of the most popular songs from the Lennon/McCartney/Harrison catalogue. Come and experience what all of the buzz around town is about!

You will hear live versions of classic Beatles songs, including favorites like “Here Comes the Sun,” “Across the Universe,” “Strawberry Fields Forever,” “A Day in the Life,” and many more. Guitarist and vocalist David Jorgensen will be accompanied by Ryan Tilby on guitar, mandolin, bass, and vocals, with Jason Gottfried on percussion.

Ryan Tilby

“My earliest memories include music,” says Jorgensen. “I feel the pounding drums of my seafaring ancestors in my soul, and I hear the lonely guitar of my western pioneer ancestors as it sung across a long empty plain and through these deep canyons I call my home. Every note is played from my heart with a will to give something back to this amazing existence.”

Jorgensen, an accomplished classical and jazz guitarist as well as a versatile songwriter and composer, has performed extensively in the West and has recorded several albums. His passionate inflection, sensitive touch, and depth of emotion sets him a notch above his peers.

Multi-instrumentalist and sound engineer Ryan Tilby spent nine years on the road with Ryan Shupe & the RubberBand, who were signed to Capitol Records Nashville. He is a state champion on the banjo, guitar, and mandolin. He is also currently the president of the Southern Utah Songwriters Association. In addition to managing Spiral Studios, he stays busy as a session musician for all kinds of artists around the West, having recorded in every major studio in Utah. Tilby has played venues around the world and recorded on hundreds of projects.  He studied jazz guitar at Utah State University and has two solo albums distributed through Stone Angel Music. Jason Gottfried

Aside from performing as a soloist, multi-instrumentalist and composer Jason Gottfried has performed as a vibraphonist, drummer, percussionist, guitarist, bassist, and more with numerous groups, including the Nashville Chamber Orchestra and Mr. Jack Daniel’s Original Silver Cornet Band, prior to moving to Utah in late 2013. He has also recorded extensively with several groups, including Levek, Kane Pour, and recently, David Jorgensen and Laura Lounsbury. Over the past year, he has released two albums as one-half of electro-acoustic duo Vesica Piscis, the second of which, “Twin Yang,” was released by London-based label Indole Records. His website is cedarsanctuarystudio.wordpress.com.

Earlier this year, the David Jorgensen Project put on three other concerts: “The Cat Stevens Experience,” “The James Taylor Experience,” and most recently, “Jazz on the Green,” with Laura Lounsbury and Jason Gottfried.
