Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah seeks prospective homeowners in Enterprise

Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah announced its home build in Enterprise. The organization is currently looking for prospective homeowners willing to partner in this process and will have two application meetings, one Jan. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Enterprise Utah Library located at 393 S 200 E and another Feb. 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Habitat Restore located at 835 S. Bluff St. in St. George

“We are so thrilled to be opening the application process once again and to build in Enterprise,” said Linda Baker, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah. “This is new area for us and we are grateful for this opportunity.”

At the meeting, potential habitat homebuyers will learn all about the process of applying for a home and what it takes to qualify and receive the application.

Potential homebuyers must be in need of better housing. They might be dealing with poorly made, unhealthy, or inadequate housing; unaffordable rent; homes inaccessible for their disabilities; or other shelter needs. They must be willing to partner with Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah and put in 250 sweat equity hours per adult in helping to build their home. Finally, they must be able to pay a affordable mortgage payments, which cycle back into the community to build and repair more affordable homes.
