Over the week of Nov. 2 to Nov. 8, 24 artists hand-picked by the Zion National Park Plein Air Art Invitational selection committee painted plein air in various locations as part of the 2015 Zion National Park Plein Air Art Invitational. The resulting works of art were sold at a public wet paint sale, with proceeds benefiting Zion National Park’s Concrete to Canyons program, as well as other youth education and art programs in Zion National Park.

The featured artists in the 2015 Zion National Park Plein Air Art Invitational were Royden Card, John Cogan, Michelle Condrat, Bill Cramer, Cody DeLong, Bruce Gomez, George Handrahan, Steven Hill, Brad Holt, Hai-Ou Hou, Colleen Howe, Ron Larson, Roland Lee, Nancy Lewis, Richard Lindenberg, John Lintott, James McGrew, Rachel Pettit, Hadley Rampton, Julia Seelos, Gregory Stocks, Susie Hyer, Jim Wodark, and Suze Woolf.

In addition to the artists finding their moments of solitude and bliss, the Zion National Park Plein Air Art Invitational also involved daily demonstrations, allowing visitors to witness the works-in-progress. Each artist painted Zion in his or her own way from the same vantage points where Thomas Moran drew his first Zion sketches.
