The Nevada Open is scheduled for Nov. 7–10 in Mesquite and will offer a total purse of $125,000 in addition to a purse for the pro-am and prizes for amateurs. The tournament will be held at CasaBlanca Golf Club and Palms Golf Club.

Back for the second year is a special pro-am scheduled for Nov. 7 at The Palms while the professional competition is scheduled for Nov. 8–10 at both the CasaBlanca and Palms courses. Proceeds from the pro-am will benefit Mesquite Junior Golf. The pro-am will feature a special prize purse for professionals and amateur golfers. Professionals can bring their own amateur team, or Nevada Open officials will pair interested professionals with a team of three amateurs. Registration for the pro-am is also now open on the website.

“We are thrilled that the players will again be playing for $125,000 and the lucrative purse paired with the quality of courses and Mesquite hospitality continually attracts some of the top aspiring golfers,” said Christian Adderson, corporate sales manager for Mesquite Gaming. “Several who have played here are now on the PGA Tour, including Graham Delaet and Tony Finau. Last year’s champion, Air Force veteran Tom Whitney, is now playing on the PGA Tour LatinoAmerica. The pro-am has also now become an annual tradition and offers a chance for everyday golfers to play with the future stars.”

Among the champions of the Nevada Open throughout its history are Robert Gamez, Vic Wilk, Kevin Penner and Tom Lehman. Other notables who have played in the tournament include PGA Tour players Craig Barlow, Boyd Summerhayes, Kevin Stadler, and Jay Don Blake.

The entry fee for non-affiliated professionals is $725. The fee for PGA of America golf professionals is $500, while Southern Nevada PGA of America professionals are offered a rate of $450. Amateurs are welcome to compete with an entry fee is $350. Amateur entrants will be screened by the tournament committee, and those selected will be contacted personally. All entry fees include accommodations for three nights at CasaBlanca Resort. The event is free to all spectators.

Registration is now open, and the tournament is projected to sell out. Interested professionals and amateurs can visit NVOpen.com for all information and reservations.

The Nevada Open is presented by Mesquite Gaming (CasaBlanca Resort and Virgin River Hotel) and sponsored by the Mesquite Resort Association.
