Rising Star Sports Ranch opens in MesquiteThe Rising Star Sports Ranch opened earlier this year in Mesquite as a new destination resort designed specifically to host traveling teams, sports camps, golfers, corporate retreats, and traveling families. It was designed to be the hub of the town and is located within close proximity to sports venues and golf courses.

The Rising Star offers 210 rooms, many featuring bunk beds and adjoining rooms for parents and chaperones. Resort room configurations include queen and king rooms plus large four, five and 12 bunk-bed rooms perfect for team and group accommodations. Special coach rooms offer technology, white boards, large flat-screen TVs, and other amenities for down time and strategy sessions.

The property also features ample conference and meeting space, a restaurant, and an arcade. The ballroom can host up to 400 guests and is available for ceremonies, expos, dinners, and other special events. The sports amenities at the ranch include a full-size grass field for soccer, football, lacrosse, and other field sports. The Backyard, located just outside first-floor guest rooms, features a swimming pool, basketball courts, volleyball courts, pickleball courts, shaded picnic areas with barbecues, a putting green, a soccer field, horseshoe pits, giant chess boards, and game tables. A 30,000-square-foot field house, called The Barn is currently under construction and will open in May 2017.

“Coaches, players and parents clearly want the opportunity for good competition on the field, they also have hopes for their time off the field during tournament weekends” said Rising Star Sports Ranch developer Greg Lee “They would like an opportunity to enjoy family time, to relax and have fun, to not be stressed out. In this era, a remarkable amount of time and often money is committed by families to allow their children to pursue sports, and some of that time is vacation time. The ranch works to recognize that, and we are committed to providing the environment to make great times and great memories on and off the field. We are a family business, and we have had the same experiences as many traveling with our children for tournaments so have spent the last several years using those experiences and studying the sporting event industry at every level. We have spoken with organizers, families, and competitors, and their input is intertwined into every inch of our new, unique destination.”

The restaurant at Rising Star is named Victory Kitchen. The restaurant is the result of the collaboration of the Rising Star and 34th Floor Hospitality, the creators of Secret Pizza of the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. The restaurant will have indoor and outdoor dining and a large menu featuring hand-tossed New York-style pizza, chopped salads, and wings. The restaurant is specifically designed to host the large parties that come with traveling sports teams and golf groups.

The Rising Star Sports Ranch is the first hotel in Nevada to feature room-service robots. Designed by Savioke in Palo Alto, the robots will autonomously deliver an extra pillow, blanket, candy bar, or slice of pizza to any guest room. Rather than give children who are attending sports camps room keys that can easily get lost or confused for a friend’s, RFID wristbands will be used to gain room and pool access. These wristbands can also be used at the restaurant to pay for meals.
