Bark Blitz SunRiver Pet FestivalOn Saturday, June 4, beginning at 9 a.m., Bark Blitz will be held as part of the eighth annual SunRiver Pet Festival on the SunRiver Golf Course. Similar to a “Puppy Bowl,” Bark Blitz will feature adoptable dogs needing loving homes. Other animals in need will be present also.

Participants can bring their pets and enter them in the cutest pet photo contest, Fur Real Beauty Pageant, or Best Dressed Fashion Show. There will be vendor booths, a photo booth, a kid corner, and prizes. Proceeds will benefit rescue groups and will be directed to shelter funding.

This year, the entire festival will be geared toward raising funds for a proposed Washington County Animal Rehabilitation Center to be located at Purgatory Correctional Facility. The center will reduce recidivism rate of inmates, and labor and building costs will be decreased through inmate staffing. Other benefits include properly trained rehabilitated animals, reduced crowding in city shelters, and annual funding covered by an existing budget. Josh Warburton, Washington County Commissioner candidate and animal advocate, will be present to answer questions.

Admission is free and donations will be accepted. Donation checks should be payable to FWCAF and can be submitted at the event or mailed to PO Box 910774, St. George, UT 84791.
