Southern Utah University’s College of Performing and Visual Arts is excited to welcome artist Jenedy Paige to present on her artwork at Art Insights March 7 at 7 p.m. in the SUU Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public. In addition to her Art Insights presentation, Paige’s work is also currently showing at the Southern Utah Museum of Art. Twelve of her paintings are on display, including six brand new pieces from this year.

Paige believes that art is not just just a pretty picture but a means by which to share a powerful message. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in fine art from BYU-I and has painted just about every day for the past 13 years, which has been a great challenge as she has also been a mother to three boys and one girl. She is constantly drawn back to her easel in hopes of perfecting her craft and bringing light into the lives of others. Jenedy has sold paintings to clients all over the U.S. and in several countries. She has exhibited her work at the Springville Museum of Art, the Meyer Gallery, the Salmagundi Club, and the Oil Painters of America National Exhibition. She recently won an honorable mention in The Artists Magazine’s figure painting competition and was featured in Fine Art Connoisseur.

“I’m so excited to come speak to the students and art community at SUU,” said Paige. “I’m basically the product of a good art education. Every artistic skill set I have was taught to me by someone else. What a treat then to pay it forward and share what I have learned with others. Nothing brings me more joy than to know I can help someone start a little further down the road than I did, and thus reach further than I will reach. I also hope to share with the students the importance of persistence and work ethic, and my belief that if you really want something, and you’re willing to put in the effort, you can have whatever you want.”
