This past Friday, May 15, the St. George Chamber of Commerce hosted their 12th Annual Chamber Golf Classic at Sunbrook Golf Course. Presented in part by CenturyLink, the Golf Classic had nearly perfect golfing weather after narrowly dodging a rain and thunderstorm earlier that morning. This very popular, highly anticipated event was attended by a variety of local businesses and their customers, drawing over 130 participants. Therapia Addiction Healing Center was the winning team of the Chamber Golf Classic with a score of 17 under.

St. George Chamber of Commerce President Gregg McArthur expressed how glad they were that the weather held out.

“It was an extremely fun day,” McArthur said. “The chamber is very thankful for all those that helped make it happen.”

Each year, the Chamber Golf Classic serves as a fundraiser to help the cause of business in southern Utah. This year, the funds for the tournament will be used to help create a new St. George Business Center that will house a modern board room and a large meeting space to facilitate over 100 people. The St. George Chamber of Commerce will manage this space and offer it for little or no cost to community businesses. The St. George Chamber of Commerce exists for the benefit of each member. The Chamber aims at maintaining and developing a community in which business and families can thrive.
