– By Cami Cox –
The inaugural LPGA Black Desert Championship, taking place April 28 through May 4 at Black Desert Resort in Ivins, will mark the first time in 60 years that Utah will host the world’s top female professional golfers. Volunteers are being sought for the exciting event, with a target number of between 800 and 850 helpers needed to serve in various capacities. Volunteers can sign up to assist on 18 different committees, filling roles ranging from scoring to gallery management.
Volunteers will have the privilege of an up-close experience with some of the best golfers in the world, gaining insight into how a professional golf tournament operates. A registration fee of $85 is required for volunteers and includes a Black Desert Championship branded shirt, jacket and hat; general admission event access from Thursday through Sunday; and meals, snacks and beverages provided during volunteer shifts. Those volunteering are asked to commit to a minimum of three six-hour shifts throughout the tournament week.
Volunteer registration officially opened on Feb. 24. For information or to register, visit www.BlackDesertChampionshipWomens.com/Volunteer.
