Zion Vineyards is busy in June bottling wines, weeding, planting, and irrigating the vineyard. New growth is emerging throughout the property, and the vineyard is showing signs of another season of high-quality fruit. The clusters of grapes currently developing on the vines are a good indication of healthy vines.
Guests are invited to join Zion Vineyards for Paint and Sip on Sunday, June 28. This fun-filled afternoon combines creativity, friendship, and wine tasting. Participants can follow along with instructor Ash’s featured painting or explore their own creative direction. The event begins at 2:30 PM and continues until approximately 5 PM.
Tempranillo is back on the menu. This full-bodied, smooth-drinking wine features bold notes of red fruit, cherry, plum, and intense dark fruit flavors including blueberry, currants, and cassis. Savory aromas of butterscotch mingle with hints of smoke and lightly turned earth, creating a beautiful balance of earth and fruit. Finishing aromas include tobacco, cedar, dill, and clove, with a smooth, rounded mouthfeel and silky tannins. Recommended pairings include flat-iron steaks, classic tomato-based sauces, barbecue, grilled meats, tapas, tacos, burritos, and chile relleno. For dessert, try pairing it with cherry cordials over amaretto ice cream, pecan pie, nutty brownies, or cinnamon desserts.

Primitivo 2023 is estate-grown in Leeds. This bold, rich, fruit-forward wine bursts with notes of blackberry, blueberry, black cherry, and plum, complemented by anise, cinnamon, clove, dark chocolate, and hints of earthy pepper and tobacco. Known as “Italy’s Zinfandel,” it offers earthy undertones and a velvety, lush mouthfeel. Suggested pairings include classic red pasta dishes, sweet and spicy barbecue, short ribs, grilled steaks, roasted meats, and lamb.
Albariño is also back. This complex, light-bodied wine offers bright acidity and dry character balanced by flavors of honeydew, nectarine, and lemon zest. It pairs well with fish tacos, ceviche, oysters, mussels, clams, burrata, gouda, and salty feta.
