The Utah Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City recently wrapped up its 2015 season and is busily preparing not only for the 2016 season but also for the season’s summer theater camps, offering a $200 holiday discount for December registrants. The discount applies to the following theater camps:
Shakespeare for Junior Actors
Dates: July 17-23, July 24-30, or July 31-Aug. 6
Ages: 11-15
Shakespeare for Junior Actors is a week-long camp taught by professional Utah Shakespeare Festival actors for all emerging thespians wanting experience in voice, stage combat, improvisation, and scene work.
Tuition includes dormitory accommodations, all meals, and tickets to five plays.

Actor Training I
Dates: July 17-25 or July 29-Aug. 6
Ages: 16 and older
Actor Training I is an eight-day camp taught by professional Utah Shakespeare Festival actors to develop auditioning and acting skills in Shakespeare, including text analysis and performance techniques.
Tuition includes dormitory accommodations and tickets to five plays.

Actor Training II
Dates: July 17-25
Ages: 17 and older (prerequisite: Actor Training I)
Actor Training II is an intensive eight-day camp taught by professional Utah Shakespeare Festival actors for an advanced study of Shakespeare, including training in scene work, text analysis, voice, and stage combat.
Tuition includes dormitory accommodations and tickets to five plays.

Tech Camp
July 31-Aug. 4
Ages: 14-18
Tech Camp is a hands-on camp taught by professional Utah Shakespeare Festival technicians for developing skills in design, building, and running a production, with insights into lighting, costumes, sets, and stage management. Participants observe plays from backstage.

Advanced Tech Camp
Aug. 3-6
Ages: 15-18 (prerequisite: Tech Camp)
For the Advanced Tech Camp, participants build deeper knowledge in select skills that may include welding, soldering, DMX protocol, rigging, and stage management taught by professional Utah Shakespeare Festival technicians. Run an actual professional event! Participants observe plays from backstage.
