Cedar Valley Community Theatre will hold auditions March 21 for its upcoming production of “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.” Auditions will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. at the Heritage Center Theatre in Cedar City. Callbacks will be on March 22. The production is directed by Britannia Howe.

Auditions are open to those high-school age and older. Auditioners should prepare 16 bars of a song from “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” or another Broadway standard and wear clothes and shoes they can move in. There will also be a dance call. An accompanist will be present, and sheet music is preferred. Auditions will happen on a first-come, first-served basis.

Performances will take place June 2–12, and rehearsals may begin as early as March 27.

The Cedar Valley Community Theatre is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in January 2012. The theatre was organized to bring together students, children, adults, and people from a variety of backgrounds in the Cedar City area, and to provide a vibrant theatre culture for all community members throughout the year. The theatre produces two musicals each year in the beautiful Heritage Center Theater. Open auditions are held for each show, and all community members are welcome to audition regardless of their prior experience. The team is composed of all volunteers, working behind the scenes to make ongoing community theatre a reality for Cedar City. Ticket prices are kept low and are comparable to movie tickets, so that shows are affordable and accessible to all.
